"There is no lift, and the wooden staircase to go upstairs would need some cleaning/dusting/fresh paint. Likewise the shower has seen better days, and would need refurbishing."

"This hotel is at the higher end of the price range but i keep returning as they have an EXCELLENT restaurant and very professional friendly staff. Many of the staff are long term employees and are true hospitality staff. I just hope they are appreciated by Mendana senior management."

"The reticulated TV system requires some work as reception is poor and the room lighting is not real good. Also, we stayed in one of the recently refurbished rooms and the maintenance manager should be aware that many of the newly laid floor tiles are "drummy" and will require repairs very soon."

"Whilst parts of this hotel feel a little weathered or worn. It always feels clean after house keeping has been through. The staff are all friendly and helpful and willing to assist. The grounds are well kept and tidy. It's lovely to walk in from the dust and hustle of Honiara. This hotel is my goto due to the proximity to Break Water Cafe and Palm Sugar."

"We stayed here at the start of our trip and also last day. Both stays were very good Lovely rooms, nice and spacious. Very comfortable beds. Good location for lovely sea breezes. Beautiful lobby and lovely helpful staff. Arranged a tour guide for us, the amazing Johnny, and also a taxi another day. Lovely grounds and gardens. Would be good if someone could rake the beach area every morning and afternoon. Put a few tables and chairs out, an umbrella or two. It would be a lovely place to sit. Especially late afternoon with a cold drink and some snacks."

"Clean and tidy, good location close to everything, airport shuttle avaliable when you need it. Very helpful Hotel staff."

"I would not recommend going to the inhouse Japanese restaurant. One of the waitresses was very rude never smiled at anyone and had a really bad attitude. Our food although delicious, the main meals came out at different times, almost an hour between dishes."

"Despite a delayed arrival (one day), the hotel kept my reservation but did not charge me for the missed stay (I informed them the same day due to my cancelled flight) and I much appreciated the gesture. 2nd stay there and always nice personnel. The Japanese restaurant is a real bonus."

"There should be a complimentary bottle of water upon arrival, that is the minimum for a hotel of this class. The management should consider refurbishing the old aisle, as they did with the other one."
