"We stayed here for 2 nights. It's a house that was converted by a local family into a B&B, so the decor looks very homey. It's a drive from the train station and there aren't rideshares in Hualien, but the family's two sons picked us up when we arrived and even dropped us off at 5 am in the morning since we had to catch an early train back to Taipei. The family made us breakfast and the AC in the room was good (no AC in the hallways or downstairs)."
"The bed mattresses are hard (this is normal in Taiwan), and the shower soaks everything in the bathroom, including the cheap trashcan and the toilet paper. But overall, it's a nice place to stay and good value."

"Breakfast is a bit boring and you dont have choice. Kitchen can only use the microwave, no usable stove or kettle in the kitchen. If you want to boil water for tea you have to get the kettle from your room."

"Excellent location, very friendly staff, and basic but super clean and efficient room. We got everything we needed, including cutlery, utensils, and access to the kitchen, ideas for where to go, and a good time with the two brothers and the mom who run the place! One of the brothers is great with breakfast and cooked up some delicious vegetarian offerings for us. They were so sweet and gave us a pomelo - a traditional gift during the mid-autumn festival which was on when we were visiting. Highly recommend!"

"Exceptional stay at Alien B&B. Spacious room that had everything, the owners / staff were super friendly and even offered to drive me to the train station when I left. Breakfast was freshly cooked in the morning and you get real freshly cooked drip coffee if you want one. Location is in the middle of Hualien. Room was cozy and quiet. Perfect place, highly recommended!"
