"Really enjoyed my stay at Formosa. I got the private room/bathroom and although it is quite tiny, it is comfortable with an AC unit you can control, and the bathroom was actually decently spacious for the size of the room. The common room was quite nice. I very much enjoyed hanging out with Billy and Henry, two of the staff there. Great guys!"

"The location is great. The staff is super helpful. Glenda the manager was super sweet and welcoming and helped with everything. The shuttles to Alishan are right in front of the hotel. The breakfast is great. Would recommend 100%."

"I got a single room with a private bathroom and it was just as described. It was very clean and met my expectations when booking. It was fairly quiet for a hostel which was really nice as I got some restful sleep."

"Good hostel. Private room was a good price. Very small room but nothing wrong with it, A/C and WiFi both worked perfectly in it. Really really good breakfast for a free (I think?) hostel breakfast (cereal and milk, bread and waffles for toast with 6 different spreads for them and good choices. Also little hot dogs and of course coffee and tea). Location is really good if you want to be in this part of town and affordable options are limited in this area"

"I've stayed there a couple times. The owners are really friendly, though they're a bit more busy now that they have a kid. Overall, everything was clean and nice. I love the lounge on the fifth(?) floor."

"The woman's bathroom was a bit small especially since it is shared with the whole floor. I wish there was a bigger or a more convenient lounge area for people to eat and work on the laptop."

"Staff was so helpful and ensuring we got dinner at restaurants. The day of departure we were giving a ride to the train station. The hosts speak very little English but was overcome with Apps. Area was quiet and near visitor centre and the jump off point of the paragliding. Great breakfasts; one at b&b abd one packed at day of departure."

"Japanese Quad room: I hardly ever give a 10 rating but this place really deserves it. It was the nicest accommodation out of 10 different properties where I stayed this time in Taiwan. The room is cozy, bright, beautiful with a peaceful energy. There are 9 windows in the room ! The Tatami bedroom was a bliss with very comfortable mattresses. The breakfast was delicious and was presented in a beautiful way. The host family was very friendly, kind and interesting. The house is located in a beautiful , natural and quiet surrounding. The garden felt very comfortable and the sound of frogs and crickets in the evening created a soothing soundtrack."
"We were originally looking for a place to stay in Chishang, but everything there was fully booked because of a big local event. Luckily, we found this Airbnb nearby — and it turned out to be way beyond our expectations! The area sits along the beautiful Taitung Longitudinal Valley. While Chishang is the most famous town, Gaoliao offers the same stunning scenery but with fewer crowds. Route 193, which connects these small towns, is one of the most beautiful drives in Taiwan. This Airbnb is truly a hidden gem — clean, cozy, and full of a warm, family vibe. The hosts are super friendly and welcoming. We had such a lovely stay. Highly recommend, and thank you again!"
