"Ein außergewöhnliches und unvergessliches Karibikerlebnis! Absolut zu empfehlen! Der Gastgeber Franck ist sehr nett und er erklärt auch wunderbar die Handhabung des Dingis, so dass man auch jederzeit an Land gehen kann. Möchte man aber bei so einem paradiesischen Hausboot gar nicht :-). Mehr Karibik geht nicht!"

"Unbeatable view. We saw a herd of caribou on the mountain to the east of the glacier. Our boat driver was wonderful."

I love the extremity of this place. Along with that came a couple of risks that concerned me. Reliance on a digital keypad lock if you’re on the deck and the door blows closed. No emergency radio. Icy water and no shelter on land even if you swam to shore. Also, we were told to use the provided phone number to call only if there was a true emergency. I honored that but therefore had no help when the water stopped working. Cryptic printed instructions did not help us get it working again (and I work on pump systems as part of my career). None of this ruined our enjoyment of this stunningly beautiful location.

"Unique accommodation on a houseboat on the Danube, with a good restaurant above. From the room, you can step right out onto the deck and sit next to the river. There are mosquito nets, and air conditioning (though I did not need it). Convenient for visiting the nearby Danubiana Museum (5 mins on foot) or great if you want to stay just outside of Bratislava."
