Campgrounds in Ethiopia

"We had a nice one night stay on our small trip from Oulu, Finland, with a friend group of 4. Cottage was of good quality and beds were comfortable. Lovely area also: frozen river and beautiful sceneries <3"

We were a little sad as we visited Sweden on purpose to speak Swedish, but the staff didn't speak Swedish at all :((

"Amazing location with beautiful views and tranquil surroundings. Wonderful staff; really attentive and courteous. They were even happy to prepare a very early breakfast for me, before I hit the road. A rustic vibe - and a fan was provided to keep me cool during the night. If you're travelling by motorbike, driving north a ways from the hotel is an amazing experience too - and a change of pace from the highway."

Slightly tough to actually find the place, as the sign was partially hidden by grass. (But the remote location could also be seen as a plus?) Also, the staff didn't appear to have been informed about my booking, so they seemed somewhat surprised by my arrival? (But they more than made up for that with a quick reaction and delightfully attentive service.)

"Great price, easy check-in process, owner was quick to respond when messaged, kitchen available, 2 fans in the room and a table to put suitcase on, bed was a full size not a twin. Great location in colonial zone"

It was a little lonely. I generally stay in hostels and missed talking with travelers from around the world

Fans are not part of the facilities though in the hot nights we had these days, you do need one to sleep properly. I was lucky to get one from Enote, this was not the case for everyone

The shower exhaust fan was weak, so after a hot shower there will be water condensation everywhere in the bathroom.

"nice location in village type neighborhood quiet walkable distance to the dunes the tents are neat beds are comfortable bathroom has hot water and clean the whole area the food is very fine with the vegetarian option as well the host is a very nice helpful humble man you can rely on him without any fear"

"Staying in the bush camp has been an incredible experience. I particularly liked that architecture and interior are made from locally available and eco-friendly material, combined with a good sense for design. Staff has been supper attentive, fulfilling any wish you might have."

"As the name suggests, a desert camp located in Bidiya. It's about 15 mins drive from main room. It's a flat and sandy road, easily accessible with a regular car, no 4WD needed. The area is quiet, very close to the dunes. The camp provides rides on the dunes, ending with sunset views. Breakfast and dinner options are very generous. There is also a camp fire at night. The camp also provides quad biking, dunes sledding and camel riding at reasonable prices."

"This is a campground with caravans, yurts, and rooms in the village of Bashi. There is excellent access to the Altyn-Emel ranger station to buy park permits and to the roads leading to the Altyn-Emel national park sites. We really liked the evening communal dinners with local traditional food. It was fun meeting the other campers. Hakim was an exceptional host - he is energetic, cheerful, and always available to answer questions. The brand new, modern restrooms and showers were exceptionally clean and functional with lots of hot water."

"Excellent overall ambience, facilities, entertainment programs and ambience. Rooms are basic but comfortable, with the washroom nearly as big as the bedroom! The food is plenty although the quality and taste are mediocre. There are quad bikes & buggies for hire, and free boards to slide down a small sand dune right next to the rooms. The highlight however was the entertainment programs, with the acrobatics and fire show superlative and the belly dance pretty good. Overall tremendous VFM and highly recommended."

Food was buffet and with good variety, both for evening snacks, dinner and breakfast, but the taste and quality of items was just average.

"A very authentic experience, with typical Mongolian food and a real traditional ger. The manager was very helpful in setting up activities and transportation and speaks good English. We especially enjoyed the home visit and the Eagle."

Beds are pretty hard—I was glad I had a camping mattress with me. Showers were hot but low pressure. It’s not a luxury resort but it was wonderfully relaxing.

"Поддържано място, спокойно, със страхотен плаж! Бяхме на каравана, много ни хареса! В ресторанта на плажа хапнахме прясна рибка!"

Единственото неудобство ако си на каравана или палатка са общите бани и тоалетни, но бяха чисти и бяха само за гости на къмпинга! Така, че отзива не е негативен! Разбира се, предлагат се и студия със соствен санитарен възел!
