"This place is truly a work of art through and through. Amazing woodwork throughout. Wonderful cabins situated in a well-labeled tropical garden maze. Excellent breakfast every morning. Right on the best surf break in town. Super friendly and helpful desk staff."

"Completely understandable considering it seems like they designed their own water system, but the hot water alternates back and forth between hot and cold regularly as you shower. A tiny complaint for such an amazing place."

"Traveling to Porto López to visit the Blue Boobies and enjoy the most beautiful beach in Ecuador, Los Frailes? Hosteria Mandala is the MUST stay. Super helpful and friendly staff and the last hotel on the secluded north side of the beach or an easy 20 minute drive up the road to the National Park. The hotel is connected with the best tours of the Island and very helpful on suggestions of great places to eat in town just a 10 minute walk away. I just don’t know how this place could be any better for travelers looking for a relaxing and welcoming place to stay in Porto Lopez. A++++"

"We loved all of the wood and the outdoor deck we had. The proximity to the beach was perfect and the manager at the front desk was incredibly helpful and accommodating of our early morning start on our departure day."

"The only thing we could have asked for was better temperature control. We had a fan in our sleeping quarters, but it was still a bit warm. Perhaps ceiling fans or a couple more floor fans to point directly at each bed would be great!"
