Hostels in Lanquín

"Rooms are quite basic, but considering where you're staying and your surroundings, this hotel is really good! It has all you need, private bathrooms, clean and comfortable beds, a restaurant, a bar, a swimming pool, and is only a (steep) 5-minute-walk from the city centre (Lanquin), which allows you to see Lanquin properly and which feels very safe. The staff was available and we loved the little surprise pickup from the bus stop to the hotel, it was really pleasant and did not expect it. They organise transfers and tours to/from Semuc Champey."

"The place is in the middle of the forest, it´s a really nice and quiet, they have a pool and I would say is the best location to stay when you visit Semuc Champey, please note that is a little secluded from the nearest town, Lanquin, so getting there without a vehicle can be harder, but it´s 20 to 25 minutes away. Also, the place runs with power generators, so there will be times during the day that there will not be electricity and/or internet, but they advice this in advance."

"Unfortunately they only have one key per room, so you cannot really lock it unless you are traveling with people that you know and you all happen to be together."

"Very nice location. You have a couple of hostels nearby to which you can go if you want other options to eat outside the hostel or even in the center, is not too far either. Really close to bus terminal. The river is right in front of the hostel, so you can swim anytime you like."

"I felt like the restaurant doesn’t have too many options to choose from. No hot water in the shower (at least in the private room)."

"The family that runs the hotel are amazing and helped us with the laundry and shuttles services. All was fair prices. They provide food which we didn't use but we did have drinks and again very well priced. The host was very patient with our broken Spanish (we are learning). And always extremely helpful with what we asked. The rooms are big water is hot. The riverside location is lovely. And to get into town you can walk 15mins or get a tuk tuk for 10q . Would stay again if was in Lanquin."

"Not a complaint from us but you can hear dogs barking at night (this is pretty standard for anyone in Lanquin) if you are light sleeper bring ear plugs. We didn't have and it wasn't an issue"
