"There are not many locations in this area of Iceland since it's in the highlands, but this filled our needs perfectly and exceeded those expectations. Going in, I was expecting this to be more barebones, but the facilities were well above anything you could achieve with camping and was well worth it for our journeys. We got lucky that the place wasn't full, so we got to have a room for just the 2 of us when normally it would be max 4 people. The common areas are big and comfortable since the place holds a lot of people at max capacity. It was cool to learn that the place only hosts guests for ~2 months and then is used as a lodge for the local sheep herders to gather their livestock up for the winter."

"Didn't realize the bedding cost extra to rent for the night, since the beds are designed for you to be using a sleeping bag. Not a huge deal, got 2 sets and they were plenty comfortable."

"One of the best mountain cabins I´ve ever been – mind that it’s a Icelandic cabin (almost hostel) and not a hotel, so you must adjust your expectations accordingly. It has a spacious dining room, a well-equipped kitchen, 2 showers, 3 toilets and all was super clean thanks to the great staff (I hope Karolina repeats next year). It can of course get busy when it’s full, but much better than the ones I stayed around. A nice plus that you can rent bedding if you don’t have a sleeping bag."

"We were happy to have chosen Afangi on our F35 trip. Beautiful location, simple and comfortable rooms, all convenience at hand - showers, kitchen etc. Nice and friendly hosts."

"Ostello autentico, nel bel mezzo del nulla, perfetto per una sosta percorrendo la fantastica strada 35. Ottimi servizi: una cucina super attrezzata, un piccolo bar, la vasca d'acqua bollente e quella d'acqua gelida a disposizione degli ospiti, servizi igienici puliti e funzionali, lavatrice ed asciugatrice. Le camerate son piccole, ma perfettamente aderenti alla descrizione. L'oste, una giovane ragazza islandese, è stata davvero molto carina e gentile, ed è stato un vero piacere chiacchierare con lei. Il paesaggio circostante è eccezionale. Andateci!"

"Tolle Unterkunft für das Ende eines Hochlandtrips über die 35. Einsam gelegen. Ein Whirlpool ist außerhalb der Unterkunft verfügbar aus dem man bei klarer Sicht auch gut Nordlichter beobachten kann. Personal ist sehr freundlich und der Gemeinschaftsbereich und die Küche schön und gut ausgestattet."

"La ubicación es buena, en la carretera F35, ideal para hacer noche durante la visita a las tierras altas. Tiene una cocina amplia y funcional, buen salón comedor y, en general, es un albergue cómodo. La tarta casera está muy rica, la recomiendo. Tuvimos un pequeño imprevisto con nuestro equipaje y la chica de recepción nos ayudó a resolverlo de forma rápida y eficaz. En definitiva, nos pareció una muy buena opción para esta parte del viaje."
