"My sister and I arrived late (maybe 10 PM) after our car broke down. Most of the staff had left for the day. We were shown to our room which had one king bed which wasn't what we ordered. We tried to explain to the worker we wanted two beds. He didn't speak much English but was able to get a hold of the owner who was still on site and he upgraded us to the superior room with two beds for free, which was very nice. The rooms are much more comfortable than most hotels in Madagascar. The property is gorgeous, and the food was excellent. We enjoyed wandering the grounds of the property after a day of exploring Isalo National Park."

Some of the service providers attitude especially at the front desk in the kitchen. The lady was not kind at all and she behaved in haughty manner, just to hand over a bill. When I took dinner I asked for the bill with the man but it didn’t come, in the following morning I had to check out. I went to the reception in the morning and said I have a bill. The lady at the reception called to ask for my bill and it didn’t come. I went back in my room to take my luggage then the lady in the kitchen wanted me to handle the bill I couldn’t I had things in all my hands then I asked my daughter to take the bill! I found this attitude really insulting to me. Real lack of respect! Anyway…

Don’t be deterred by the 1/2 mile dirt road leading to this gem, it’s worth it!

"The property has a very low ranking; therefore, I was suspicious regarding what to expect before the stay. However, almost everything was OK. I booked the best room and its is fully OK. The property responded to my questions very fast. The manager/ owner was very helpful. Dinner - not much choice, but very tasty (just bit too expensive). Nice small beach."

Delayed breakfast, but hope this was just a special case.

"Perfect little cabin / apartment with everything you need and great access / views of lake and mountains outside your door. As I read in a review when i booked this, really wish we had stayed more than 1 night. We could have happily stayed a week here. Great base in Vagamo with a 25 minute drive to Lom and access to Jotunheimen National Park. Highly recommend!"

"This trip was planned as-hoc and we didn’t have very high expectations, however Hyena lodge was above and beyond. Absolutely stunning views, clean (clean clean) accommodation, bathrooms and overall territory. The beds were comfortable with beautifully designed blankets and pillows. Each balcony had a nice bench to sit on and jointly amazing views of Lake Mburo. Also we had game drive and had a chance to walk very closely to several giraffes and kids throughly enjoyed it. Overall very memorable stay! Highly recommend!"

We could have fit in the twin room easily with our two teenagers, but unfortunately the booking doesn’t show that option for families. The room is double the size of the standard room with two queen size beds. Actually we all stayed together first night and it was spacious enough. Hence would be good to list this room for four people as well.

"If you want a peaceful, calm and stunning environment, this is the place. It is simple, but has everything you need in a beautiful setting. Perfect for nature lovers who don't want to be on top of other guests."

Was a bit musty smelling, but after being opened up and aired out and a candle or two it was perfect.

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Bertos Lodge. From the moment we arrived, the owner made us feel so welcome — incredibly friendly, helpful, and genuinely caring. The room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, and we slept incredibly well. What really made our stay special was the owner going the extra mile by helping us plan an itinerary for things to do in the area. Thanks to that, we had an amazing time and truly made the most of our visit. We can highly recommend Bertos Lodge and would definitely stay here again!"

"Чудове місце для відпочинку сімʼєю. Дуже задоволені. Було дуже затишно і комфортно. Велика територія біля котеджа – є все необхідне для барбекю, альтанки і качелі для дітей. Відпочивали взимку, але в приміщенні було дуже тепло. Є санвузли у кожній спальні, що дуже зручно. Окреме спасибі пані Олі, адміністратору котеджа. Турбувалася про нас, щоб ми почувалися максимально комфортно. Плануємо повернутися сюди влітку 🙂"

Трошки замалий холодильник. Було б добре, щоб він був трохи більшим і мав трохи більшу морозильну камеру. Також не зайвими були б ще кілька кастрюль та великі миски.

"Everyone there is amazing! Incredible view from all the areas wherever you go, I was teleworking from there, and needed somewhere nice/calm/comfy to work from. Thank you, Sardan, for all the help and care and always checking on me and helping with my plans. The place by the pool is really nice for all the hot days, and they played really nice soft music that uplifted the vibes. The bungalow was gorgeous, too, waking up with a sea view directly from your bed. Perfect for couples or solo travelers. I booked for 2 nights and ended up extending for a full week. Can't wait to come back there. Kabak Beach is like a 30 min hike downstairs , it's very nice and cozy without trashy tourists vibe like Oludeniz."

They didn't clean the room while we were there, but waited until we left. It was only two nights, but anyway, we would have expected to get clean towels at least.

"Incredibly unique accommodation and stunning property. The surrounding tea planation provided amazing nature walks and a cool tea tasting and factory tour. The manor was one of the most unique and beautiful places I've ever stayed. We had the whole place to ourselves!"

"We stayed in quiet bungalow with a couch, patio, and room to spread out. The manager drove us to the neighboring lodge for dinner and picked us up without charging. We scheduled an early ride to the airport with him and he was on time and his car was very comfortable. Namibia is pretty expensive and this place was pretty affordable which was very appreciated."

It’s clearly not at its prime anymore but for the cost it’s fine.

Zimmer und Spielplatz sehr veraltet Dusche Renovierungsbedürftig leider keine Kochmöglichkeit die Sitzgelegenheiten vor dem Zimmer den ganzen Tag im Schatten es gibt Ruhe Zeiten

"I had a great stay. Wandered around and enjoyed the island life. Took a night walk with the hosts who were very friendly and attentive. They picked me up and returned me to the ferry. I was able to use one of their snorkels and mask. The shower was excellent and bed was very comfortable. I had a great stay. Thank you!"

There was construction going on all through the day and doors slamming early in the morning. The construction crew were loud and abrasive. The door slamming has to do with the way the door lock mechanism is set up. The ferry brought me to island very early and wasn't able to check into my room until much later.

Ms. Allissya (I assume one of the owners) wasn't too friendly and even rude at times which made our stay uncomfortable at times. All the other employees were very friendly. Also, the shower in our cottage wasn't working properly.

The staff were friendly and attentive, always ensuring guests felt cared for. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to stay, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a tranquil and enjoyable experience."

You really need a car to get around. Not the property's fault as there is no public transportation and taxis are extortionately expensive (return trip to Cayenne and back €75)
