"We had a spectacular time staying at the Tsoelike River Lodge in Lesotho! The staff was exceptionally friendly, making sure that we had everything we needed for our stay. They consistently checked in with us to make sure our fires were lit in our cabins, if we needed the room to be freshened up, and if we were enjoying our time. This on top of the stunning mountain views right from your window made for a wonderful stay."

No complaints! We had a great time and would book again upon returning to Lesotho.

The only small downside were the pillows, which were a bit higher than we’re used to, but it didn’t take away from an otherwise fantastic experience.

"The staff is so friendly! Was really a lovely experience. We only stayed one night to extend on the island , but It was one of our favourite experiences with the owners. Their kindness is so refreshing. The bungalows are basic, the bed is so comfy. It really gives you jungle beach vibes. Also try their coffee, best cappuccino ever. Double shot and the froth is on point. We even ran into the owners in Ranong coming off the slow ferry and they offered us a ride to our hostel. It really just made us so happy! I wish them all the luck with this new project of theirs. They have only really been actively open a total of 5 months!"

A little further from the beach but if you ride a scooter you are fine. 16 minute walk to one beach and the rest are about 40-45 minutes in each direction walking! Food not too far!

"Very good stay at quiet place surrounded by stunning nature. The inside is quite new and very clean. Friendly and attentive owners who speak some English. Their daughter speaks English well. Muy bien!!"

The location was a bit tricky to find at first, but once there, everything went smoothly. The host was very friendly and welcoming. She gave a helpful introduction to the facilities, including the cabin itself, the kitchen, and the shower area. The small cabin was cozy and pleasant, and the kitchen and sauna/shower located in an old outbuilding were also perfectly adequate for my needs. Overall, a nice and practical accommodation option in a quiet setting."

"I enjoyed the quiet, hilltop location with views of the sea. I loved all the plants, the hammock in front of the cabin and the cabin itself. Very simple set up which I enjoyed."

"This place is simply amazing, what stands out is the attention to detail and the magical garden with pool. Highly recommend it for you nature lovers. The hosts were very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. There is plenty of parking space, a bakery and exquisite french restaurant just around the corner. Pro tip: watch your step when going to the pool, turtles are sometimes patroling the area."

The property is up a very steep hill (but we knew this before booking) so you would definitely need a car to get there. It wasn't an issue at all for us, but is good to know before booking.

You really need a car to get around. Not the property's fault as there is no public transportation and taxis are extortionately expensive (return trip to Cayenne and back €75)

The room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, and we slept incredibly well. What really made our stay special was the owner going the extra mile by helping us plan an itinerary for things to do in the area. Thanks to that, we had an amazing time and truly made the most of our visit. We can highly recommend Bertos Lodge and would definitely stay here again!"

"The view: wow. Believe me when I say it’s even more stunning in person than in the photos. The pictures don’t do it justice at all. It’s that breathtaking. The room was cozy, the staff were incredibly friendly and kind, and the location had a nice, peaceful vibe. It was a great and fun stay overall."

The only small downsides: the room could really use a mini fridge to keep water cold during the summer, and a full-length mirror would be a great addition. But aside from that, everything was fantastic.

Everything was fine!

"Perfect place to stay on the lake with a very nice host family. You can organize your visits with them. Very clean and large room, balcony to enjoy sunset and sunrise. Excellent and generous breakfast, same for dinner."

Nothing really, but of course this is not the place to stay if you are looking for hotel services and European style food.

Room was exceptionally warm and hard to moderate the temperature. We eventually asked for the floor heating to be turned off completely and then opened all the windows and doors for over an hour to bring the temperature back down to a suitable value.
