Las Brisas Ixtapa

"Every day was a joy. The staff, the facilities, our room -- all excellent. And those fabulous sunsets! Buffet breakfast at the Bellavista open air restaurant was delightful for the ever-changing array of indigenous Mexican cuisine, alongside eggs, omelets, pancakes, waffles, and an incredible variety of fresh fruits and juices. Perhaps best of all was the kindness of the staff, from the waitstaff in the restaurant and lobby bar to the General Manager Señor Mestas and his assistant Rosa Maria, who always greeted us with a big smile and genuine concern for our well being. We have stayed at Las Brisas Ixtapa many times, and plan to return many times more."

"If anything, the adult pool needs some deferred tilework maintenance and the air conditioning in the rooms, at least in our room, needed some tweaking to allow cooler air."

"The installations are well kept and everything is in good working order. The rooms are large and comfortable, with nice details like hammocks. The beds are very comfortable, and bathrooms are ample and with everything needed. There are several buffet restaurants, for different times of the day, as well as some other, specialty ones, and a very practical café close to the lobby. The beach has comfortable beds and good umbrellas. It is private, shielded from the outside noise and from beach vendors. Common areas are well appointed, large and pleasant. Service is basic but correct."

"We had a great stay overall. The beach is absolutely fantastic — beautiful, swimmable, and the kind you don’t want to leave. Rooms are clean, comfortable, and well cared for. And the beach staff? Truly excellent. Friendly, attentive, and somehow always appear exactly when you need them. They’re a big part of what makes the stay great."

"Pools The resort proudly advertises multiple pools — and to be fair, they deliver. All four are clean, well-maintained, perfectly heated, and staffed with awesome lifeguards. What’s less obvious is that all four pools are essentially hanging out together on the far side of the property, about 125 slippery stairs up from the south end of the beach. After a long beach day, this becomes an unexpected fitness challenge. A pool closer to the beach — especially on the north side of the property — would be a huge win. One more note: no food is served at the pool, only drinks. So if you want to spend a full day poolside, you’ll need to decamp, head back down to the beach to eat, then trek back up to the pool. It’s a bit labor-intensive for a vacation and could be easily solved if the resort chose to — especially since there’s a sit-down restaurant located right above the pool deck. Breakfast Breakfast is buffet-style every day. It’s fine, but not all Americans are emotionally prepared to commit to a resort buffet morning after morning — or to gorge themselves at breakfast. Lighter options (think fresh fruit, yogurt, simple hot dishes including eggs meals) would go a long way. The good news? There are great breakfast options in town — local spots with more variety, better coffee, and zero heat lamps. It would be great if the resort leaned into that a bit more or offered alternatives for guests who prefer smaller plates over buffet déjà vu."
