"The hotel is in a great location, but honestly, the town is so small that you are never far from the beach. There was some work being done around the pool area, but the pool was accessible. You’re not going to be able to do laps to train for your Olympic competition, but the water was comfortable and clean—enough to float around and enjoy the amazing view of the beach from above. The terrace view was also fabulous. We got a unit with two queen beds in the back with an outdoor kitchen. Some of the other units are dark and claustrophobic. The whole place is a little run down. It could be so much more with a little renovation. It does have a lovely old Mexican feel which we liked, so that part should never be changed. A restaurant and full time staff would also take it up a notch. The staff were attentive and helpful, but they are not there full time. Overall it was a good deal."

"We got a unit with two queen beds in the back with an outdoor kitchen, which is roomier than some of the others. The bathroom, however, was tight and too dark for proper grooming. We were shown an inner room with a king bed, and it was very dark and claustrophobic. The whole place is a little run down. It could be so much more with a little renovation. It does have a lovely old Mexican feel which we liked, so that part should never be changed. A restaurant and full time staff would also take it up a notch. The staff were attentive and helpful, but they are not there full time. Overall it was a good deal."

"Incredible views. Great location. Feels very luxe, but casual. Modern rooms. Great shower/bath. Our room had a lovely kitchenette with frig that was perfect. Great location close to the beach but set to the side to be out of the town scrum. Above, but accessible from, the Malacon on a slope to afford great views. Feels like it's your own home in Chacala, easy to come and go, and no other people around, very relaxing. Fantastic upper deck. We made a mistake and accidentally failed to check out on time, thinking we had reserved for an extra night and upsetting the owners' plans. But the owner was understanding and very accommodating, and we were able to stay the extra night."

"Our room #5 felt like an inside cabin on a cruise boat. There is a window to the main walkway and beyond that is a garden area. So there is technically a garden view, but if this window is left open you will hear and see everyone in the hall and they will most likely see and hear you. This propert is in the beat possible location with access to the beach and away from the construction noise of the city. You can hear the waves at night but you will also hear roosters that start as early as 3am. The property is well maintained and has a friendly staff. We would stay here again for the location and access to the beach. There is a rooftop patio that saved our trip because we could spend time up there to relax and read and enjoy the view. There is a small dipping pool but it is so close to one of the rooms that it felt uncomfortable to use it as you would be blocking the view of those guests. Perhaps if you had children who wanted a pool that would be the room to book."

"Full kitchen, bedside lights, lots of electrical outlets, lack of TV. Very comfortable king bed. Best feature was the rooftop terrace - fabulous for sunrise and coffee in the morning, cards and chat in the evening. Very quiet peaceful location."

"There was nothing to hang clothes from - hooks on the wall or a rack would be great. The outdoor security light shone directly onto the twin bed-would not have been able to sleep there. Pool location was a bit awkward at first."

"The location provided an excellent view of the bay and crescent beach and great access to it. The property had nice gardens and plants, though along the side of the property could have been manicured a little better. The ambiance was warm and of Spanish decor. Access to the 3rd floor very comfortable palapa terrace was wonderful with the best view in town. The room was simply furnished but colorful. Very comfortable bed. The kitchen was fully stocked with appliances, dishes, and all cooking necessities. Fresh drinking water provided."

"No breakfast offered. Parking limited. If the property was fully booked and everyone came in a car, many would have a hard time finding a parking spot. Only 3 spaces available. I couldn't figure out how to use the TV, so I mostly used my computer."
