"We really enjoyed the location and the amenities, including the small fridge, hammocks, and hot water. There was plenty of space for five people, which made our stay very comfortable. The staff were amazing, very helpful and they did a great job cleaning the room. Also very affordable and the pool was super cute but very small."

"It’s Mexico, so be prepared for some insects and bugs in the room. Our room didn’t have AC, so it was quite hot during the day, but it was comfortable at night with the fans. It’s definitely a more rustic experience, which our family enjoyed, but it might not be for everyone. Would be nice if they have coffee and tea included."

"I liked my room, it was like a log cabin in the tropics! Nice veranda outside. The bed was comfortable. The staff was nice. You can order breakfast and lunch from the kitchen. A nice family owned feeling overall :) Oh, and cleaning every day."

"The communal kitchen area could be improved. Maybe a new fridge? And upgrade the utensils? The guesthouse is bit off on a steep hill, but that can't really be improved, can it? It's why it's called Villa Escondida I guess."

"This family-run hotel is rustic and nestled on the mountain overlooking Zipolite beach. It's removed enough to get a quiet relaxing beach feel, but close enough to enjoy the nightlife and restaurants a 10min walk away."

"We liked the porch area and the cabana itself. The staff was very friendly and helpful at all times. The quiet of the entire complex was lovely. Restful and breezy air and views of the garden and beach were perfect to wake up to."

"The water pressure in the shower was very low. That could improve, and the ceiling fan looked like it would fly off the mount at any time, but it held fast. We spotted a mouse, but it was not unexpected as we were in a thickly wooded environment, and people often cook in their cabanas. Dish soap could have been provided."

"Warm and welcoming place in Zipolite with a very homey feel. The place was exactly as advertised. It's a family run business where everybody takes exceptional care. They cleaned our room every day and you can order a home-cooked breakfast. Even though this place is not beachfront, we were lucky to have a bungalow with a view of the sea. It's close to Playa del Amor and many nice restaurants and bars. There are yoga classes across the street and they are very happy organizing excursions for you: we went on a boat tour to watch dolphins and whales! We will definitely return here."

"For us this was the perfect stay and we liked it all. For people with mobility issues the walk might pose a problem. They have friendly cats and dogs which was an added bonus for us, but might not be for all."
