Aryaf hostel

"Everything! Don't let the 'hostel' label fool you—this place is essentially a boutique guesthouse. It was and felt clean, incredibly well-maintained, and decorated with such good taste that it felt like staying in a cultural museum. The big garden and well-equipped kitchen were lovely, but the highlight was the overall atmosphere: peaceful, calm, and deeply relaxing. The location in the old town is perfect, as taking a walk through the neighbourhood is just as interesting as the sights. 10/10. It was hard for us to say goodbye."

"“Hostel” is a misnomer — it’s a really nice local hotel. Rooms are spacious and clean, with a nice backyard that includes a laundry machine and 2 drying racks. There’s parking space for 4-5 cars in front of the hotel, which is a big plus. Beats having to navigate/drive in the small windy roads in the old town!"

"Several flies entered our room from the backyard especially, which was annoying — it’d be good to lay out sticky traps throughout the hotel. I wished they provided hand soap."

"I had an excellent stay at the hostel. The staff were incredibly welcoming and professional, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing. Everything from check-in to check-out was smooth and pleasant. I truly appreciated the attention to detail and the quality of service. I highly recommend this hostel and look forward to staying here again."

"Pool was heated to above 40 degrees while it was 35 degrees outside, made being in the pool uncomfortable. Bath in Room was cracked, with dirty stuff emerging from crack"

"Aryaf is less hostel & more Airbnb (it's a good thing). The rooms were very spacious & the beds were comfortable. The rooms we booked had access to the courtyard, which was a nice touch. The pool & courtyard are also quite spacious. Parking was available for us inside the property. Overall, I believe we were the only ones staying that night, which gave us the impression we had booked the whole house. :) Aryaf has multiple living/family rooms; I assume these rooms can be used to relax. Location: A 10 minute walk to Nizwa Fort. Walking through local streets was a nice experience."

"Not much of a negative, more as a suggestion for improvement. Breakfast was not available (nor was it mentioned to us), although coffee/water is provided in the room. Flies are an inconvenience & even more so when they are so many, during our stay we had many: becoming a nuisance. Keep in mind the location is rural. One of the rooms booked had an electrical issue & ended up having no A/C throughout the night in the dead of summer. As it was too late at night to text the owner, they tried their best to sleep. Having said that, we would definitely come back."

"Loved our stay in this accommodation. It is a gorgeous room and staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and the kitchen facilities were extensive. It's only a short walk into the old town of Nizwa, which is a fascinating place to see. Would highly recommend to others and would stay again if in the area."

"We absolutely loved staying at Ayraf, the room is huge and so comfortable modern and light. The gardens are also very large and peaceful, they are tending to it carefully and there are so many fruit trees and shade. The pool was great. After spending 2 nights beforehand in Nizwa where there are lots of people and cars it was very peaceful. We walked the easy flat 15 mins to town and loved it. Highly recommended."

"The only thing I could mention as a negative would be that the pool pump runs quite loudly for about 17 hours a day so it’s hard to relax at the pool area."
