"Basic Hotel is in a very convenient location, next door to the train station and a short 6 minute walk to the Braga city gate and the old city. The hotel is quite basic, small room and small shower but very clean and complete. We didn't eat at the restaurant but it was available and prices seemed reasonable."
"I would have liked a coffee pot in the room, or one available for hot water in the lobby. The air conditioning seemed low in power but we slept with the window opened just a bit and found that was enough fresh air."

"We stayed at Basic Braga by Axis as a couple and overall had a pleasant experience. The hotel has a very good location — close to the city center and next to metro station, which made it easy to explore Braga on foot and visiting other cities by metro. The room was clean and comfortable, and we liked the modern style of the hotel. The dinners that were offered in the restaurant were very tasty and delicious for reasonable prices. However, there were a few small things that could be improved. There was no hairdryer in the room, which was a bit inconvenient, and the breakfast could be better — there were many sweet options, but no eggs or vegetables. In general, it’s a nice hotel for a short stay with a great location and good value for money."

"This is a gem of a hotel at a decent price. It is on the same block as the train station and you can catch a bus to almost anywhere in town with just a few minute walk from the hotel. It was so convenient to hop the bus to Bom Jesus and back. We were also able to walk to the old town with ease. The hotel has a great breakfast, a restaurant right next to it, and snack machines in the lobby. Our room had everything we needed except a hair dryer, which the desk provided when asked. The room was surprisingly large with a great layout and a huge TV with channels in multiple languages. Staff was professional and helpful. My expectations were exceeded by a mile."

"We were on the Fishermen's trail and only stayed one night and did not really use all the amenities. It's a lovely place and I can highly recommend it. Lovely staff. They also gave us a room upgrade with an amazing view."

"Cosy room.in a traditional old farm building. The table by the swimming pool had a fabulous vista down the valley to Vizela and beyond; perfect for watching the sunset directly ahead whilst bats fly around and sipping the delicious wine made by the family. We regret not bringing some home! The owner went the extra mile for us, for example taking our laundry and ironing even in the middle of a heatwave"

"We did the Camino and it was right on the Camino trail. Payment is via cash only. The rooms are small but adequate for just one night. Nice place as it has its own vineyard. The caretaker is also very friendly. They provide a pilgrim dinner for 16 euro but we did not do that as we do not eat a heavy dinner. It did look good though."
