Guest reviews for The Cliff Lipe
"Compared to Australia, amazing value for money e.g., 20/10. Particularly due to having a private pool. Rooms were cleaned spotlessly. Location is great if you're fit (see 'what I didn't like' for reasons I say that). Staff were lovely albeit a little slow responding to issues (at times). Costs at the location were really quite high (dinner, bar drinks), etc like a good Australian night out. Having said that, this was one of if not the best (multi-course dinner) meals I have ever eaten in my life. I'd happily stay here again for a good price."
"We moved rooms whilst there. While the first pool was pristine, the second was green upon arrival though it 'blued up' after a day/night). While the location is great, this is probably true of anywhere on Koh Llipe with a water view. The Cliffe does require a (scary for some) 'taxi' option to get to and from the main centre (or a decent walk without light unless you have a mobile phone/torch), and the accommodation is definitely not as nice as some flat/on-the-beach options we later saw on the island; this was 'on the beach' if you were willing to traverse a few flights of stairs, absolutely no good for anyone with any mobility issues at all. Aside from the stairs (even to breakfast) at the accommodation, the accommodation requires either walking or a 'taxi' and getting in and out of those requires some basic sprightliness. A real negative - unfortunately no-one was removing the floating wads of garbage (a few metres squared at times) floating in the water. Many times during the stay I told my partner that I felt the urge to get a pool net and go scoop it up. This effort wouldn't take much and would vastly improve things. Also whilst promised snorkelling gear in the advertising and liaising with reception before arriving, it was sadly lacking (either not available in basic sizes/perished) so had to buy masks/snorkels whilst there. Staff were lovely albeit a little slow responding to issues, at times. Costs at the location were high (dinner, bar drinks), etc but one 'sunset' dinner was beyond wonderful; one of the best I have ever eaten in my life. Cudos to the Chef! I'd happily stay here again for a good price, but would prefer to choose an option down on the beach itself next time (though likely no private pool, so a toss-up)."
"Exceptional resort with a beautiful restaurant. The staff , food and facilities were amazing. We will definitely return. Exceptional resort."

"Stayed here with my girlfriend for 3 nights/4days. The resort was perfect and so beautiful. We stayed in the ocean view jacuzzi suite, had zero complaints and definitely enjoyed our stay. Aside from the beauty of the resort the staff were honestly amazing and made our stay even better and more special. I can't remember everyone's names, but Charlie the manager of the resort in particular set the bar so high and went above and beyond every step of the way to make sure our stay was perfect (which is probably why the rest of the staff is so great as well). Charlie made us feel incredibly welcome and as though we were the most important people there (not because we were, but because he is so great and welcoming). I would definitely return and definitely recommend to others. Thanks again for everything Charlie!!! 🙏"
"Nothing. Everything was perfect."
"The tranquility of our stay and had it's own private beach and free kayaks available. They also have a transfer service from and to the Pier or any other hotel you are transferring to. Food were excellent. A plus is that you get to see the sunset while having dinner. Staff were so nice and helpful especially Charles did everything asked of such as upgrade to a jacuzzi room with ocean view."
"Did not like that there were no Iron in the room or Ironing service available."
"Amazing location on the island 🏝 The views from our room were spectacular. The staff was extremely helpful and kind, the breakfast and dinner were very tasty while enjoying the views. A great experience."
"Just had to leave."
"Incredible view from the balcony. Small hotel so few guests and thankfully no one reserving sun lounges with towel etc as there just was no need to. Amazing to be able to go snorkelling from the shore and see so many different marine life."
"It’s quite far from the main area of Walking Street so you can’t really just walk to dinner and back again but the hotel puts on a shuttle service into the main area in the evening and you can easily get a taxi back. Pros of this is that it’s nice and quiet."
"It was quiet and peaceful, and yet you could get to restaurants, diving etc very easily we loved walking back along the beach after dinner out."
"The matress was hard but that’s not unusual in Thailand , the beach bar shut at 16.30 although you could get drinks from the restaurant bought down to you , we loved our stay but if we had to say something it would be the amazing facilities aren’t really used to their potential."
"Everything was exceptional! From the service, to the staff, to the rooms. 11/10! Loved loved loved!!!!! We spent 95% of our time at the resort because of how amazing it was, we didn’t want to leave!"

"Fantastic views from the bedroom. We loved the location, the private beach ( although there was a lot of broken glass around) and the breakfast (especially the latte art on our coffee). The staff at the beach and driving the shuttle to town were great."
"Firstly getting to the hotel was an adventure and probably pretty difficult if it had been raining. We had a feeling that this was two resorts in one hotel. This is also reflected in the reviews, some fantastic and some not so good. Basically some of the rooms have been renovated and have a pool and other rooms ( where we were staying) were very tired and need updating. It seemed the same at breakfast, the plates for the buffet were dated and plastic but if you ordered something from the menu it came in a modern pottery bowl. The restaurant was also very expensive in comparison to similar resorts. I mentioned our disappointment at the end of our stay, particularly the value for money of our room, this was handled very professionally and an acceptable solution was found. Thank you."
"Secluded and quiet with great views and a small private beach."
"It was a great location some of it felt a bit tired though and could have been doing with some touching up, outside communal areas. It’s a very small private beach and therefore can get pretty loud and busy. It’s kid friendly so also can be quite noisy in that regard too. Also after staying there I didn’t feel like the price reflected the value."

"Hotel is right off the main road so close to a lot of restaurants and shops, solid 15 minute walk to the beach, and 5 minute walk to the bus stop. The room was clean and amenities were provided. The owner was kind and was limited in English but did her best."

"Per and Sirilak's apartment at Kamala Regent is lovely. Our hosts were very easy to communicate with and provided helpful information on request. Very clean, spacious and comfortable apartment and friendly people to deal with. Walking distance to just about everything under 1km. Some local coffee and restaurants within a 5 minute walk. On-site facilities such as pool, restaurant and gym very nice and clean. Security were happy to call a taxi for us when we weren't up for walking. We highly recommend and would absolutely stay again. Thank you for making our stay in Kamala memorable 💖"

"Reviews are mostly about reality VS expectations. And I was not expecting 5 star services from a 3 star hotel. Everything went well, thank you for hosting us"
