Guest reviews for Hotel Esplanada
"It offers various programs and located in a perfect location, right in front of the beach. Very helpful and friendly staffs."
"Aucun."
"The location was a short walk from a few restaurants. It also had a nice view of the beach and was close to the airport. The hotel itself was nice in terms of maintenance and facilities. There was a nice pool."
"Weird interaction with the driver who picked me up from the airport. The ride should’ve been $10 but he said it was $30. So I gave him $40 and he gave me back $10 (excluding tip). Not til I spoke with the owner that I learned this was incorrect. The driver tried to offer me $10 back when I was leaving (even though it should’ve actually been $20), but the whole interaction left a sour taste in my mouth."
"Staff - they made it an excellent experience and hence why ten rating was easy!"

"Central location at the waterfront. Good breakfast, the restaurant, a big deck overlooking the water. Comfortable roman and clean swimming pool."

"The pool is nice and the yoga class in the morning. The staff was very friendly and helpful."
"The furniture and the baathroom need maintenance and renovation."
"Basic but comfortable hotel in a convenient location. Room was clean and fairly well-maintained, with comfortable bedding. Staff was consistently friendly and helpful."
"The breakfast buffet offered a limited selection, which became repetitive after a few days. Basic amenities such as slippers and some toiletries were not provided in the room."
"Breakfast was good staff very friendly grounds very good plenty of vegetation very relaxing"
"Pool needed cleaning algae growth discouraged use of pool."
"The location was a little outside the main part of town, but it was along the coast and we did walk to town, but it was a 25-30 minute walk, depending on where in town you went. The restaurant was right above the check-in with a view of the coast. The breakfast was pretty good, with eggs, toast, cereal, coffee and tea. The staff was very friendly. The AC in the room worked well. The restaurant was open all day and we could have drinks and sit on couches and relax. We took a day tour into the mountains and loved it. Our guide was great, and talking to him about the history of the country and the people and their struggle for independence was really good. The views were great, the coffee plantation where we had lunch was great, just a great day out. Clearly the highlight of our stay."
"The pool and pool area was probably not as nice as they seemed in the pictures. We didn't end up using the pool or sitting out at all. Timor Leste is still a developing country but we found the people very friendly and the culture was interesting. We spent 3 nights and one day toured the island (our highlight) and one day visiting the statue of Christ, and walking the town, including the struggle for independence museum."
"The hotel is clean and comfortable walking distance from downtown and a lot of food options. The pool area is great to sit and relax by."
"The internet is only really usable late in the evening and early in the mornings but it’s like that all over East Timor"
"locations was great. right across from the beach. Microlet passes by which was handy for getting around town. Pool was fantastic for cooling down after a few big days wondering Dili in the heat. The food in the upstairs restaurant was great every time. it was very relaxing place to stay"

"From where should I start, I have no idea. But to be honest, to have such a homestay in such a small town at a reasonable price is something unimaginable. It's a heaven for solo travellers since it won't break your banks. The breakfast was delicious and changed everyday, and there are vegeterian options also for both lunch and dinner. Their staff Eta and Mimi are cool and polite and will take your requests carefully. The location is bit far from the town, in a village not very far from the beach, but you can find microlets running during the school hours going towards the city. The best thing I liked was the whale-watching group tour which was very reasonably priced and I enjoyed the company of Fernando who's the owner of all DaTerra hostels. Overall, don't hesitate to stay here if you are a solo traveller. This is the best option for you."
"The resort made visiting the exceptional reefs of the island easy and very enjoyable, with an excellent dive master to guide you. The staff was attentive and welcoming. Good location on the water, but no beach."
Edward Compass Diving Resort
"Very convenient location near the ferry port, diving/snorkelling/other activities on offer, free tea/coffee all day, breakfast included, option to purchase lunch and dinner (food options are otherwise limited on the island), friendly staff who are always around to assist, beachfront location, hammocks/beach chairs to relax."
"Location and accessibility for magical snorkelling and diving. Food, varied choices and delicious. Ice cream amazing. Staff friendly, helpful and always available for any queries you may have. We had a hut on the beach, awesome. A fantastic relaxed place to stay. We will definitely return."
Nicole Atauro Dive Resort
"This is a very quiet, clean and confortable place one bloc from the national hospital. It is even possible to cook with private kitchenette with bridge and sink in the room. Room is fully equipped with tv and sitting space. Very good value."
