Campgrounds in Curaçao

"I really liked the eco conscious focus of this hostel, you could tell right away they are mindful about being resourceful. They're also the most affordable hostel in Bocas that I could find, if you're investment focus is purely price. I do feel that they could work on answering phone calls, doorbell rings/knocks, whatsapp text alittle more efficiently and timely. Just so you're not waiting outside for 25 minutes like I did, lol."

"It was an incredible experience! Isuru was so kind with us, he took care of us since the first moment, the communication was great! If you want to get a very local and authentic experience, this is your place. Isuru knows a lot about nature and his country and we talked about so many things, we learned so much from Sri Lanka and its culture. The food was amazing, everything was delicious, I would say that is the best food we’ve tasted in Sri Lanka (rice and curry🤤). The location was perfect, so quite, not so far from the national park, also Isuru has a Tuktuk. You would be surrounded by nature in every moment, see the fireflies during the night.. ✨also you could have a walk next to the river and see a lot of birds ! The bed was so comfortable and the airco was perfect! Everything was so clean. The safari that we booked with him was amazing, i totally recommend it. It was one of the best experiences that I lived in my life🐘"

The greatest thing is that the is very remote at the countryside and they have quad bikes for rent. Believe me, there is the best place where you ever rode a quad bike."

"Everything was excellent, clean rooms, comfy bed, clean bathroom and the host was great. They helped us to get to know the area, told us what we can do or not do and many many advices. The greatest thing is that the is very remote at the countryside and they have quad bikes for rent. Believe me, there is the best place where you ever rode a quad bike."

"Great location after 2 long days of flying. Cutest and chillest orange cat I've ever met. Staff was pleasant and welcoming. Great views from campsite, although very windy."

The light in the camping area was so bright and on all night. Made it hard to sleep since I didnt think I would need to bring an eye mask.

"Location and had microwave and refrigerator, kettle. Home owner and son welcoming. Again excellent location and price!! Tons stores restaurants grocery ATM—& easy excess to Lima attractions and tours."

No hot water, so could not use bathtub. Room had private bathroom, but the “efficiency” was not independent from owner’s home-had to enter main home apartment entrance. This was not really a problem though. Owner very quiet and kept to self. On main busy street, so expect city traffic at night.

"What was most striking was the communal spirit which was celebrated among the guests. You're not just staying in your hut, you are having breakfast and dinner together and exchange experiences. The octopus dish for dinner was fantastic. Coffee is readily available. Water, beer, and soft drinks for sale at fair prices. While the owner was away, the temporary host did a great job managing and making everyone feel included and informed. There is a viewing platform of the Pico. The beach is crossed by a river from where you also have a great vantage point. Needs to be low tide to cross. Love the outdoor showers. Thanks to solar panels, there is always electricity. Good distance to Porto Alegre for visiting Ilhéu das Rolas as a day trip. They can arrange for a hike to the base of the Pico."

For a couple like us, there is only the choice between a two person hut without attached bathroom or a four person hut with. We really wanted to have an attached toilet, so we had to book a four person hut which is of course quite more expensive. It would have been ideal to have a two person hut, small is OK, but with attached toilet. Shower wouldn't even be necessary, because we preferred the outdoor showers. Just a toilet and small sink would be enough. There is internet, but it's less reliable than other reviewers painted it to be. It's one small pocket router for the whole premise. During the day it was in the main hut and at night in guest huts, but never close enough to our hut. Still for São Tomé and far away from any towns, it was quite decent.

"Easily accessible at the center of town, close to bus stops. The host provided a lot of amenities, such as bathroom items and some snacks and water to ease a late arrival. Spacious main room, a hallway with clothes hanger and mirror, and a spacious bathroom with shower, tub, and washer."

"Très simple, très naturel,avec beaucoup de bon coeur l'accueil de ce Lodge qui appartient à une école.Le directeur de l'école m'a servi généreusement de taxi plusieurs fois pour me rendre à Levingstone,au Chutes Victoria et j'ai fait un safari avec lui dans son 4×4 pour un prix avantageux."

Le village de Simonga est très authentique de la pauvreté zambienne sans misère,ici ils sont heureux avec très peu. Pour moi habitué à un peu d'abondance il manque beaucoup ici sans aller à la ville.

"The villa setup, the swimming pools (especially for our daughters), being 7 to 10 minutes walk from the beach and the shops, but especially the owners (Mr. & Mrs. Moorghen). They are exceptional hosts and everything in their bungalow is touched with thoughtfulness. Thank you so much for your kindness and hospitality. In essence with a family of 8, the four room villa was ideal and cosy. A home away from home comfy feel."

I asked my daughters. One thing they did not like... Time to go back home. 😛

The train every half an hour on 2 meters from our windows. The fence is not so high (safety?!). Also the busy road between the camping and the beach is dangerous. Lots of kids crossing that road. A tunnel would be solution.

"We made use of the campsite. The food was amazing and we were very happy to make use of the outdoor shower and having our hiking clothes washed. Back on the trail feeling refreshed! The hosts were very welcoming and made us feel right at home. Would definitely recommend this place!"

"Bell tent was fab, better than expected with comfy, warm space, convenient plugs even! Felt more premium than I think we paid! Fantastic little close kitchen separate from main campsite was a great touch with awesome bbq facilities, stargazing, short walk from lakefront plus a great sauna much better than the queenstown one. Great to see kids having fun all over the site. Will definitely be back."

Closest toilet was portaloo and bit difficult to acces in dark sometimes, not my favourite, you can walk back to main site area but when it's middle of night you go to the closest, perhaps they will upgrade this but worth knowing.

"The Beauty lies in the basic style of living. It’s a great spot at the beach, the host loves to help with everything, that helps you enjoying the stay as much as possible."

At this price you need to expect a basic accommodation, which it is. Do yourself a favour and rent a scooter right from the beginning of your stay. The scooters rental is not really close to the resort so best you go there with the bus and then drive up to the accommodation with the scooter.

"I just loved the concept of tipi in the forest. Very clean camping area, big forest surrounding the campground, lots of birds and of course the lovely semois by my feet. It’s also a family camping so as a solo traveler you feel pretty safe."

The “insolite” part, you aren’t quite insolite, other tipis were in use by families with children running around and shouting. This was a bit tiring since I hoped to be in a calmer area. But you manage, I was out hiking the whole day and at night I set up my bbq while the kids slept. Only early mornings were hard - at the same time the birds were as loud as the kids 😂

"The cabins are beautifully designed with great attention to detail, and the efforts to combine sustainability, tourism and nature are truly impressive. The view was stunning and we feel so lucky to have discovered this place."
