The location is excellent—right in the heart of town, just a few steps from the local station and the lifts, making it very convenient for getting around. "Convenient to train station, beds were comfortable and the breakfast had plenty of options such as fresh fruit, local cheeses, deli meats, yogurts, homemade breads, cereals, bacon and eggs…delicious!! Restaurant at night offered the most delicious Schnitzel…we went back for more the next day!"

"Hotel Steinbeck was perfect for our four-day stay in Lauterbrunnen. Contrary to some negative reviews we found the room clean and the bathroom more than adequate - good water pressure and hot water in the shower. We typically do not require our room to be serviced during our stay - when we saw housekeepers in the hall, they gladly switched our towels for fresh ones. The bed was comfortable, but the large floofy pillows, not so much. Our room had a sweet little balcony overlooking the train station - a great vantage point for people watching and views across the valley. Speaking of convenience - the train station, cable car, bank and bus stop are literally right outside the door. Breakfasts were good with a selection for most every taste. We had most dinners at the hotel - the staff were very helpful and the menu was good - with wild game dishes as a specialty."
