"The beds were clean and had mosquito nets. The room was spacious with only 4 beds. There's an AC in the room and 2 fans. The location is good; it's like a village on the western side of the city. It is safe even walking at night. There are small shops nearby. You can buy basic stuff and cook in the fully equipped kitchen. The beaches are 15-20 minutes walking or 5 min by tuktuk. The fast ferry to the airport is just 10 min walking distance. The staff were ok and helpful. The view from the balcony is great. It's the cheapest place in town. In fact it's the only hostel in Freetown on Booking.com. They have a generator in case of power cuts. The wifi is fast."

The toilet needs a bit of cleaning and maintenance. There's no hot water and the water pressure is weak. The generator is right under the dorm window; very loud. But still; you get what you pay for. A basic hotel in the area is 3-4 times more expensive.

A little pricey for budget travelers compared to other parts of Europe but that's what you get in Liechtenstein =

"Pros - location right in old town was great. Rooms were clean and spacious (for a hostel) and the facilities were better than expected. It is in an old house and my private room had a balcony over the garden. AC worked well and the bathroom was clean with good hot water. Lots of shared spaces. The bar had reasonable food and was a good place to hang out in the evening. This was one of the better hostels I've used in Latin America. I had a private room, so can't speak for the dorms. Was quiet after 11 pm. I loved this hostel."

Cons - not much. Colonia is an expensive place to stay so the value for money was quite good. The hallway carpets could use a good cleaning, or at least a vacuum but there was construction happening in a room nearby so that might explain the dirt.

Our room was very small, the bed took up most of the floor space. However, this has to be balanced with the amount we paid.

I didn't like that some guests were smoking in the public area, it's not possible according to the rules in the UAE. The washing machine and the fritz are sharing one plug, it's completely unbelievable why this Small problem was not taken care of a long time ago. The tap in the bathroom has a hole so the water is being sprayed all over the place. This is clearly a proof of bad leadership in this company when small things can't be fixed 😔 The staff Fayas is doing a good job keeping the place clean, and are always smiling 😊

It is on the 2nd floor, and no lift, luckily i didnt bring heavy lugage.. also the staff service is amazing they offer to help to bring the lugage.

"Gorgeous surroundings and very comfortable beds and tents. The staff is incredible and everything is super clean. I decided to stay an extra week before crossing into Botswana. I loved it here!"

"Not bad at all! When I was there I had the whole dorm to myself, staff were nice, it was more or less clean, bed was comfy enough. Just no wifi and some mosquitoes. Great for Tonga and especially for the price."
