"Great staff, great rooms. Dodgy Dock was a very good bar restaurant. Local cats very friendly."

Our only complaint was that we were the furthest room from the front desk. Other than that we were very happy with it.

"The view from the restaurant is beautiful and the whole place is so beautiful and peaceful. The linen was top notch. Breakfast was also very good. Me and my family loved it."

Beds a bit too firm. Some septic smell in bathroom sinks. The restaurant was understaffed for new years.

Couldn’t find any ramp which could be wheel chair friendly. A ramp could be introduced for ease of moving luggage’s and for elderly people.

"Well maintained, super friendly and helpful staff. Room was always well stocked with towels and cleaned. Nicola does a great job by the pool keeping everyone happy with towels, food and drinks. Front desk staff were very helpful and friendly and the bartender was always smiling and talkative. D Richard’s steakhouse was great - Steak Diane and Filet were both excellent. Sol de Mar had good Mediterranean style food with a relaxed atmosphere. My husband and I ate here on a few occasions- pasta with lobster, veal scallopini both great choices. Close location to a number of off property restaurants that are excellent."

The pads on the loungers are very old, worn thin and extremely uncomfortable to sit on. Chef’s Table wasn’t good- we ate only one dinner there and the lobster cake and fish were dried out. The pasta dish with Shrimp had the full shell on the shrimp still making eating very messy. Lobster Fest on the beach was disappointing. The lobster was dried out as it had been sitting under lamps for some time. We waited 30 minutes past our reservation time to finally get a table after speaking with the manager in charge. Very unorganized.

The building is missing an elevator.

There was nothing significant to complain about. Overall, the experience met and even exceeded my expectations.

Only 2 real dinner restaurants, and the Italian is closed on Mondays, so you need to make plans to eat off property some.

"My wife and I waited 15 years to go to the jade Mountain on St. Lucia. Who knew I would like windjammer much better. The rooms were fantastic, but Marcus and Bridget made everything worthwhile. I would stay here again 100 times before I stated any other hotel on island."

The staff at the pool were not very helpful. We asked for pool towels and were told they would be brought to us, but we waited almost 20 minutes. Eventually, we had to go and ask again.

"this place is heaven. the beachfront cabin we had was so close to the beach. the bay is so quiet clam and serene. there is a coral reef a short walk from the lodge. we snorkelled with turtles! this place is so relaxing and wonderful. would recommend!!!"

more variation in the food on offer would have been nice

There was also a manager whose name started with a T who welcomed us upon arrival and checked on us to ensure everything was to our liking. From the initial interactions, these staff members helped our group of 6 feel like we were regular visitors at the Verandah although this was our first stay. I would defiantly return and highly recommend a stay here. Sidebar: The food is great and well seasoned!"

The property is very large and sometimes there is a long wait to get a buggy to travel. There could be a few more shaded areas throughout the property especially when waiting for transportation.

For personal preference, I did not enjoy that the property did not have a coffee bar area with espressos, lattes,etc. Also, I would’ve like for the souvenir shop to offer more variety in cultural snacks and drinks. Water and fountain drinks were limited for purchase:

There was just one moment when after getting massages, our masseuse had difficulty pulling up our account information to charge us for the massages, so we had to come back to the massage area about 3 hours later and even then, it took about 30 mins for her to get everything taken care of. I don't think this was a common incident or our masseuse's fault, but I'm just being nitpicky.

Plastic rubbish floating in the sea and oil washed up on shore from a recent spill. Not the fault of the hotel or its staff though.
