"I didn’t have the breakfast and I have to update my past review on the heating. It seems that I did not know how to obtain heat properly with a radiator that was not accessible to me. I apologize for my mistaken belief."

"The beds were just ok in terms of comfort. I loved how close the hotel was to everything in Reykjavik. Good restaurant downstairs."

"Location versus food on equal par. Breakfast buffet was excellent Evening meal very tasty Short walk in the snow was beautiful"

"Parking area took a few minutes to sort."

"The location is wonderful.....right off the main drags so that it's not too noisy at night...but only a block away from all the action. The room I had was perfect for one person....two would work but be a bit cramped. I had a problem with my shower....but maintenance fixed it as soon as I asked. And the staff---24 hours a day, especially the day shift...what a terrific combo--all of them!!-- of professionalism, friendliness, helpfulness, and just the right amount of sassy comeback as soon as they found out what me and my buddy were about! 10/10---I left them all a hidden gift....I hope they found it!!"

"The Exeter is not cheap....but we're talking about Reykjavik, and that means it wasn't expensive, either. And the rooms aren't romantic at all......but they surely are functional, and that's what matters to me. The internet was good, the shower was good (as soon as was fixed) and breakfast was varied and excellent. For a package of everything that is important to me, the Exeter is at least a 9......and the staff, throughout, make it a ten. I had so much fun every morning with the whole reception crew....simply phenomenal."

"The hotel was a comfortable distance from the active areas. Room was clean and spacious. There we a good selection of restaurants nearby as well."

"The room always seemed to be hot. Especially in the bathroom area. Even after i turned off the room heater it felt like there was heat coming from below."

"wonderful staff, incredible bagels and pastries, great location, excellent showers and comfy beds"

"one of my rooms was just a bit noisy due to proximity to ekevator"

Victoria - 17/01/2026 21:40:01

"The view from our room was absolutely beautiful. My Partner was blown away with the room. Love the shower, double sinks, heated towel bar. The bed... So comfortable... I keep thinking about how cozy we were. Parking included really saved our butts, it was a wonderful relief. The breakfast in the morning was great. We still talk about the breakfast sausages and how we won't be able find anything like them back home. Deig is also awesome, we got breakfast sandwiches and donuts there our last morning before leaving."

"The doors and elevators around the hotel take some getting used to- some you push, some you pull. Different elevator to our room vs from the car park. No big deal though. 🤷🏻‍♀️"

"Lots of thoughtful amenities, sweet treats and delicious coffee. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Communication with host was excellent. We would definitely book again."

Connie BergOne

"Nice spacious flat with excellent view. Nice furniture. Crossfit equipment there as it used to be a gym studio."

"Stunning location. Great view. Lots of room. Very well maintained."

"The location, the staff, the facilites, parking and the beautiful view"

Josebau The Barn

"Inside nice had everything we needed. Outside not so much"

"We recently stayed at Eystri-Solheimar for 3 nights. The host Einar and his staff were extremely helpful, attentive, the room was very clean and spaceious, very quiet. The breakfast/coffee was nice. We would stay there again next time if we go. Btw, he can speak Chinese! We wish that we could have seen the northern lights, but that's not Einar's fault, he then sent me some spectacular pictures from his phone as a compensation. :)"

"Space enough for 3 luggage, shared kitchen is good to use and the goose and sheep and dogs and cats are just lovely and the sunrise and sunset view are definitely the highlight of this guesthouse!"
