"this was a wonderful spot to spend a couple of nights while visiting this area of Iceland. it wasn't too far from Reykjavik, and the drive was nice (of course). if going, be prepared to travel a bit for a meal as the options are limited in the area. if going back, we would stock up on some groceries before heading out (though the room did not have a fridge). The staff was great, and very friendly during check in and out, breakfast was typical for the area and was a nice start to the day. One of the reasons for picking this spot was the open access to the sky at night in case northern lights made an appearance. While we did not get a great showing, the spot would be perfect for viewing them on a clear night."

"the only downside to our stay was that while there were very few rooms booked while we were there, the room next to ours was occupied on our second night and we could hear the occupants snoring all evening, which made for a rough sleep. if going during a busy time would recommend earplugs perhaps."

"Very clean, great staff, with a lounge area for drinks and snacks in the evening , and provided a good selection for breakfast. The loft was a great "room" for my kid to sleep as well. Thanks to a clear night, I was able to view the northern lights and an amazing view of the stars and Milky Way!"

"The room as huge and beds were comfy. Plenty of windows to watch aurora lights. A sm hiking trail to go to the river was fun to explore. Breakfast was wonderful."

"There's really only one restaurant nearby open for dinner and it's a fancy (delicious) one at the Husafell resort. We had brought food, so we had sandwiches for hiking and breakfast at the hotel, but the restaurant in Reykholt was not open."
