Bed and Breakfasts in Portugal

"I arrived late and the taxi driver was unsure of the location. However the owner ( manager) came out to meet us and showed me the cabin, there was a language barrier as I don’t speak French, however with the help of google translate this was overcome. The breakfast was good and plentiful with egg, dates, yoghurt and bread with a juice and coffee. The owner was very helpful despite the language, the cabins are functional and good fun and first thing I walked (30 seconds) to the beautiful beach at sunrise!"

"To start with, the location is not only excellent (right in the middle of historical Viterbo, walking distance to most things), but you also have parking inside (and space for normal-sized cars too), which can be a life saver when travelling by car. Nice (and very clean) room, and for a very reasonable price (have been to city accommodations half as good for twice the price). Also provided disposable indoor slippers, which is instantly a +1. Lastly, can mention that the owner also has a nearby restaurant (c. 2min walk), called La Chimera, which I can strongly recommend. I do not normally give 10/10 unless very deserving, i.e. going above and beyond, but this place deserves it."

The host cannot speak much English, but make it up through effort and enthusiasm, so you will still understand in the end (with or without Google translate). Breakfast was ok, but almost only sweets, so some less sugary stuff as well could be good. Some of the toiletries just lasted, so not a big issue, but if providing more then would not have to ration. Can also be a bit difficult to find (more so since some streets are currently closed-off due to construction).

"The Arjun bed and breakfast was amazing place to stay, this is best value for money they are charging, its their family maintained house, specially the lady was so kind and nice in conversation, i recommend this place, plus you also get breakfast on top of that. I find this place very comfortable. Will stay again with them."

Their is nothing i can assume to be bad. Everything was above my expectations. Everyone should try it at least. No one will say that they found something bad on this hotel.

"I loved the modern style, it felt sleek, comfortable, and it was thoughtfully designed."

Everything was great, The only small suggestion would be to offer either thicker blankets or a cozy duvet for extra comfort for those who likes to sleep with the air conditioning but gets super cold easily 😅

"Paolo is a wonderful host. He's warm and kind. He immediately offered us coffee when we arrived. We felt right at home. The house was clean enough. We also had a nice breakfast. I highly recommend it."

"Gorgeous view from the apartment! There's a big window showing the beautiful mountains below. Beautiful interior design throughout!! The host was also very friendly 🌷 Buiilt as a compact studio apartment with a large bed, all beautifully designed. Next door there's a room that serves as a small kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave and capsule coffee machine. Lots of attractions nearby - Nimrod Fortress, Hermon Mountain site and cable car, Tel Dan, Ghajar village and Banias National Park."

Fortunately we travelled with a 4x4 wheel drive car -- a must-have to negotiate the steep roads in the village.

"nice b&b in a village close to York next to a bus stop which links York with the moors countryside and coastal towns. convenient to visit both York and Whitby/Scarborough especially if you have a car. feels like a home than a hotel."

the spiral stairs can be an issue if you have a large piece of luggage.

"Location was great. And nothing beats the local dishes for breakfast. The convience of the washer and dryer right in the apartment was awesome!! I think the gated area added to the security of the apartment, and so you feel safe staying there."

I think some basic essentials would be nice, like salt, pepper, and oil to cook with:-)

"This was such a wonderful place amidst such beautiful surroundings. The perfect place to stay if you want to do some hikes in the area. Marco and the staff were so kind and accommodating and always available. They really make you feel at home. The room was clean and quiet And there was free parking if you have a car. I would highly recommend if you are planning to visit Mavrovo."

"Friendly and helpful checkin. Room super clean. Decent sized terrace with clothesline, table, umbrella and chairs. Great water pressure in shower. Breakfast was Excellent. Quiet area"

Bed not as comfortable as we hoped

"I spent a wonderful week at The Octopus Tropical Oasis. I had the flamingo cabin behind the pool with a double bed and an outdoor shower. There is a communal kitchen, a small deck and a hammock in a tropical garden. The pool is very nice and the area is very quiet. It is a 3 mn walk to Playa Wachi, 15 mn from Boca Sami beach and another 30 mn hike from there to Kokomo beach. I painted a mural for the owners over 3 days."

Bring mosquito spray as there are lots of mosquitoes from 5 pm to 7 am even with the mosquito net around the bed. I walked a lot as I did not rent a car. There are local buses though.

"Excellent location in the center of town, if one wishes to stay in this area (which was my case). Large room, clean, no noise at all, and very safe. Air conditioning works very well. The common area is excellent, which large common space, full of African art. They also provide tasty meals, at affordable prices. Staff is very kind and helpful."

My room's ceiling fan did not work well. The shower's faucet is not that great, and it is often hard to get the shower's temperature right.

"Very clean, walkable distance to center , safe and calm neighborhood with a stunning view. Very kind staff , perfect balcony and common place and all the equipment you may need was being ready for you since the beginning until the end of your stay."

I am satisfied with everything private, performance, location, cleanness.

"We traveled on our bicycles and Highland lodge was the perfect stop between Afriski and Mokhontlong. Rooms were very large and so clean. Bed was very large and comfy. Staff was nice, friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend 👌🏼"

We would have enjoyed a desert after our dinner but it was not so important.

Seating at the coffee shop could use a good cleaning but the coffee shop itself is great. Little tough to find the property the first time.

"Thanks for Saffron's hospitality! She always replies on time in the plateform and care everything you staying in Tonga. Everyday the management team will clean the common area and keep here tidy. In the bedroom, they use the white lien showing the cleanliness as a hostel. I'm very satisfied with staying in Tonga Cottage. Highly recommend."

Directions or signage at the Villa to direct (or even identify this place). Owner email instructions weren't sent until morning of and I didn't get it because of traveling by bus to town.

"Great accommodation in “middle of nowhere”. Quiet place with superb rooms, brand new. Fully equipped kitchen available. Proactive and nice receptionist! I wish to stay there more than one night!"

"The Manager handled EVERYTHING for me from car rental, directions to my many inquiries, set up a massage appointment for me...ECT, from the moment I landed on the island until I got on the plane to leave 🏝️I could not have been happier than with these people & this location! Thank you so very much Kurtz ... It was perfect for exploring the East side beaches and restaurants of the Island from & and just few minutes from the airport but you never heard planes flying over that area!. Car Needed!!"

"Great location, owner's pleasant personality, cleanliness, the feeling of home away from home,availability of all basic amenities, quietness, size of the accommodation, and the cost, parking on the enclosed compound added to the feeling of safety. As the first customer, the owners had a toast with me. That was great, unexpected, and exceptional. Will recommend it highly. 9/10"
