"The staff was super friendly and let us know that there was a walk we could take down to the beach. This was one of the highlights of our trip as we saw whales and seals down at the beach and could walk to the famous rock. The hostel was very cozy and we were able to do laundry and also cook a meal."

"It is a hostel so the facilities were shared. We expected this. The house is very historic with beautiful Driftwood from Russia. The only thing that people should be aware of is that the floors can be creaky so I would bring earplugs if you’d like to go to bed early or sleep in."

"We were upgraded to a private cabin on our one night stay. It was a lovely surprise! The view from the cabin was the loveliest on our whole 13 day trip around the island. The kitchen window overlooked the ocean, you could see seals, and birds and distant mountains and beautiful fields of wild grass. the famous "rhino rock" Hvítserkur is a 10-15 minute walk down the road. The cabin was simple, but was quite large and had a working kitchen which was awesome. They have free laundry on site which was amazing! The owner is really nice as well!"

"We had a really nice stay, only complaint was that the shower never really got very hot- the water was barely lukewarm but that was a small price to pay for the beautiful scenery/location."

"It was the cosiest perfect place to stay, the view is breathtaking, the host was really helpful and pleasant, he also presented the house with a little bit of history. The bathroom was really clean, with warm water at any hour, the kitchen had all the amenities, and also, from downstairs you could buy coffee, tea , sweets. I would recommend it any time."

"I could hear my neighbors talking, from inside my room, but i wasn't upseting, because by night, everything got quiet and i could get a perfect good night sleep."

"Our booking was for a shared bathroom, but we got a huge upgrade to a private cottage - which was great. The owner checked us in and showed us the room and gave us tips on where to see seals. The location is right by the beach and very close to Hvitserkur."
