"I had a great stay. Wandered around and enjoyed the island life. Took a night walk with the hosts who were very friendly and attentive. They picked me up and returned me to the ferry. I was able to use one of their snorkels and mask. The shower was excellent and bed was very comfortable. I had a great stay. Thank you!"

There was construction going on all through the day and doors slamming early in the morning. The construction crew were loud and abrasive. The door slamming has to do with the way the door lock mechanism is set up. The ferry brought me to island very early and wasn't able to check into my room until much later.

"Ms Maria who runs the place and makes the breakfast is absolutely a lovely person. All the team members who work there have been very kind to us. The bed was comfortable and the view of our veranda was precious."

It was quite difficult to find the exact place - you need to make a call to understand exactly where they are located. The parking at some specific hours had been complicated in that area. The room was quite small and there were literally only two plugs in the whole bedroom and bathroom for one to charge any devices (one was connected with the TV and the other one with the fridge).

"The location is fantastic - right on the beach. The accommodation had all the basic amenities. Felt safe with good security. We were able to meet our basic daily food needs such as bread (pao), fish and prawns through local traders visiting the lodge. Staff were always polite and friendly."

No internet connection because of a cyclone a few weeks earlier. Had to buy our own airtime. A portable fan in the living room would be great.

"It’s my fourth time to be here, and I knew what to expect. We had two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and that’s was very comfortable. Well equipped with kitchenware, Very nice area, and the manager of the cabanas (I forgot his name) was very helpful."

1. The main problem is that you have to bring all the food with you (we stayed four nights). but it’s common to all cabanas in this area. 2. The wool blankets are quite old and very unpleasant, actually we didn’t use them, as well as the floor carpet.

Bathroom needs some fixing.

"The view: wow. Believe me when I say it’s even more stunning in person than in the photos. The pictures don’t do it justice at all. It’s that breathtaking. The room was cozy, the staff were incredibly friendly and kind, and the location had a nice, peaceful vibe. It was a great and fun stay overall."

The only small downsides: the room could really use a mini fridge to keep water cold during the summer, and a full-length mirror would be a great addition. But aside from that, everything was fantastic.

You only have two breakfast options, and it gets a bit repetitive if you stay more than two nights. You need to rent a motorbike or use pick up apps because you can’t go anywhere walking because it’s in the middle of nowhere.

"The hosts Lilly and Simon are the most wonderful people ever. Kind souls that can make your stay here in Fiji a truly one of a kind experience. Staying at the salt lake lodge didn't feel like a hotel or resort, but instead felt like you got to experience how it would feel to live in a Fijian family. Not only were the people great but the food was extraordinary. They both could be in a Michelin star restaurant with the food they provided. We would also recommend doin LOVO with them, which is a traditional grill on an campfire of which I shared photos of. The location itself for us was also a 10/10 because we love being surrounded in nature, and what ever window you looked out from was the beautiful environment, even from the shower you could see the river. We could not recommend this place more if we wanted to. I hope your experience will be as beautiful as ours"

The only problem we encountered was that the AC in our room was directly pointed at the head of the bed. And it's lower functions for us were still quite cold.

"The tents with en-suite were great, really generous size and fantastic Mountain View’s"

It is 30 minutes on a very bumpy road from the gate to the national park and we were the only people to pass through each day. This end of the park is forest and scrub so very difficult to see game. There are not many roads in the park and almost no signage.

"Very western styled, so if you're looking for an ethnic experience, probably not for you. Having said that facilities were excellent, staff super friendly and helpful and the food was good"

"Great ambiance and service. We enjoyed our breakfast and dinner. Location was great- very close (walkable distance) to the most of the city amenities including in house cafe. Staffs were kind and helpful. We will definitely return."

"The room was more better than we expected. It was clean and very back to basic as we wanted. When you walk out you are straight in the outdoors where you can go on a walking safari or hike to the execution rock as we did, what was stunning!"

The restaurant only offered buffet dinners and breakfast during our stay. We weren't that hungry and felt forced to eat there which was a bit disappointing.

"The traditional things were awesome! I liked the private pool due to that privacy."

Some of the service providers attitude especially at the front desk in the kitchen. The lady was not kind at all and she behaved in haughty manner, just to hand over a bill. When I took dinner I asked for the bill with the man but it didn’t come, in the following morning I had to check out. I went to the reception in the morning and said I have a bill. The lady at the reception called to ask for my bill and it didn’t come. I went back in my room to take my luggage then the lady in the kitchen wanted me to handle the bill I couldn’t I had things in all my hands then I asked my daughter to take the bill! I found this attitude really insulting to me. Real lack of respect! Anyway…

"With its historic charm and secluded location, this lodge is the perfect escape for travelers looking to get away from the city. I also liked the fact that the price includes a delicious buffet breakfast. The surrounding hills and mountains are currently experiencing beautiful snowfall."

"Wow! What a gem of a stay! Lovely rooms at a value price. Food and alcohol sold. Plenty toilets and showers. An amazing waterfall next door, which you pass driving in and out of the property. And a 45ºC hot pool. Yes, there is a hot spring pool included that overlooks everthing!!!"

Tough to get to with small car through long gravel road.

"We were spoilt with kindness…the staff went out of their way to look after us - even cooking a birthday cake for me at very short notice. The property was very comfortable as and clean and our room looking out into the water holes that the animals came to in the evening and mornings"

The log cabin accommodation was warm, comfortable and beautifully unique in the attention to detail, artistically designed carved wood, stretched leather, fur chair and stone framed mirror. Husky ride was fun learning about their training from friendly staff. Highly recommended for a comfortable and unique experience."

Couldn’t improve this stay it was excellent. Just wish I could have stayed longer.
