Resorts in Cape Verde

"Stayed two nights. The hotel is brand new and sits right in George Town's heritage zone, beside Khoo Kongsi temple, and the location alone is worth it. Checking in here feels less like arriving at a hotel and more like being invited into someone's cherished (and very luxurious) ancestral home. Breakfast was cooked-to-order in the courtyard. We had the western option - shakshuka, smashed avocado on toast, simple and well done. There were cultural advisors on hand to craft personalised itineraries. We did the Journey of the Gods trishaw tour and were amazed by the diversity of local religious traditions. Overall, great experience. Would definitely stay again."

"This place is literally out of a dream. The rooms are gorgeous and so peaceful, the small size of the hotel makes it very quiet and relaxing, and the staff is beyond amazing. We can’t wait to come back, and will stay here for all trips to the Cook Islands!"

Absolutely nothing, everything was perfect

Beds a bit too firm. Some septic smell in bathroom sinks. The restaurant was understaffed for new years.

There was just one moment when after getting massages, our masseuse had difficulty pulling up our account information to charge us for the massages, so we had to come back to the massage area about 3 hours later and even then, it took about 30 mins for her to get everything taken care of. I don't think this was a common incident or our masseuse's fault, but I'm just being nitpicky.

The dive shop is always closed. Fortunately, there is an excellent one adjacent to the property and connected by a walkway. The restaurant is mediocre. The bar pool-side is closed until 5:00 pm but that’s all right because their cocktails are awful.

"Anantara Resort offers a great and spacious atoll with several islands united, providing an array of experiences imaginable. Enjoy a relaxing massage over water, go snorkeling or swimming, witness breathtaking sunsets, and immerse yourself in a secluded atmosphere that will make you feel lost for a week. A huge plus is - transportation - it just takes 30min from Anantara to the airport by boat. We were staying with a baby and it was critical (no sea planes)"

Some villas may be facing docking points or ferry routs which is a little noisy.

The mattress is not very comfortable. The sofa-bed was actually better.

For personal preference, I did not enjoy that the property did not have a coffee bar area with espressos, lattes,etc. Also, I would’ve like for the souvenir shop to offer more variety in cultural snacks and drinks. Water and fountain drinks were limited for purchase:

"Perfectly situated by the beach with an amazing pool. We had a great time at the LUX. Everyone we met was very nice and friendly. We enjoyed our room with a great view on a gazebo and the ocean in the background. The food was excellent across the massive breakfast buffet and different restaurants for dinner. Special mention for the Carry’s bar (especially canard à la vanille and Rougail saucisse) as well as the Rougail citron dessert."

Hard to find something to mention. To be picky, we would have like a drink included in the half board dinner (soft, glass of wine).

You can feel that the hotel isn’t new, the tv and the air conditioning was very old and sometimes didn’t work but the staff helped us and were very nice.

Organised tours available for guests from tourist agencies, for self organised guests rent-a-car is the only option for sightseeing. Some facilities require better maintenance.

Our only complaint was that we were the furthest room from the front desk. Other than that we were very happy with it.

"The location was wonderful! I loved the hot pot on site and the sauna! The proximity to so many water falls and Laugarfell was great! We enjoyed the cute museum on site and appreciated the 50% discount! The staff was incredibly helpful. We forgot a suitcase and they quickly realized our mistake and called us before we had been gone more than a few minutes. It was a quick turnaround to be reunited with our belongings! So kind and thoughtful!"

The breakfest is great, they have also a private beach the pool was clean and all the area was clean the room was good too

"Great location (quiet neighborhood, but close to the city center) with enough parking space, very good breakfast, cozy rooms and very, very friendly staff - always looking to help and make your stay better."

The building is missing an elevator.

The staff at the pool were not very helpful. We asked for pool towels and were told they would be brought to us, but we waited almost 20 minutes. Eventually, we had to go and ask again.

"There was a great breakfast - up to two dishes could be ordered for the selected time. The area is very well kept which should be the case for a golf field, that I could see from my window. It was silent all the time."

The only disadvantage was the cold temperature: I could not ejnjoy a table and terrace. But that is not about the great hotel. That is about November in Latvia!

Absence of guide for beach activities and a the lighting of the room was a bit darker. However, it doesn't affect my overall rating. I love the room.
