Resorts in French Polynesia

"Just generally one of those special places that will stick in my memory forever. A collection of pretty little cabins by the beach surrounded by palm trees with hammocks slung between them for whiling away the days. With only the sounds of birds and waves. Where everyone just hangs out and chats, the staff, the other guests, the extremely interesting and gregarious owner Gregory (no pun intended). I could spend a week here just forgetting about the outside world. The various arrangements (airport transfer, transfer back to town, activities) all went smoothly as well. Which is my no means guaranteed in this part of the world."

Not much but if I went again I'd maybe pay a little more for the room with ensuite shower rather than sharing a communal shower with non locking door. Obviously this is budget accommodation in West Africa so it's of the rustic eco lodge variety rather than the western style hotel room variety in case anyone is expecting that.

"Great value for the money. The hotel is completely renovated with super nice rooms and facilities. Please ignore previous comments about not being completed. The entire area is beautiful. We had the pleasure to visit multiple restaurants and all of them had great food. Recommend to book them already the first night to make sure that you have a spot. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Our room was always clean and filled up with water, drinks and snacks. Pools and beach is great with plenty of options for everyone."

The only negative aspect is that a big portion of the staff doesn’t speak English, so sometimes it can be a bit tricky to communicate, but it is always sorted out somehow. The resort is huge(you have access to all other hotels under the palladium umbrella), sometimes it can be a bit tricky to navigate. You can take out how many towels you want, so people tend to book up a lot of spots without really using them. When arriving later to the beach, it was usually difficult to find something. Recommendation would be to limit the number of towels a room can take out.

Only 2 real dinner restaurants, and the Italian is closed on Mondays, so you need to make plans to eat off property some.

"Majority of the staff here are very nice, welcoming, and helpful. There are a few who were a little rude however the politeness of the others outshine those interactions by far. Special mention to Triston who was very polite, patient, and insightful throughout our entire trip. Jeremiah was also very nice and helped make our trip special with his suggestions and assistance at the beach. There was also a manager whose name started with a T who welcomed us upon arrival and checked on us to ensure everything was to our liking. From the initial interactions, these staff members helped our group of 6 feel like we were regular visitors at the Verandah although this was our first stay. I would defiantly return and highly recommend a stay here. Sidebar: The food is great and well seasoned!"

The property is very large and sometimes there is a long wait to get a buggy to travel. There could be a few more shaded areas throughout the property especially when waiting for transportation.

There was nothing significant to complain about. Overall, the experience met and even exceeded my expectations.

The menu was good, but could be better. Would have loved more sea activities like jet skiing. Also outdoor screen viewings would have been fun.

Order the food freshly made. And cookie/muffin (wish it had more options like pancakes/waffles) -The rooms very clean and spacious, great tv lots of channels. -Supper/restaurant is good has a good amount of options(little pricy tho, room delivery for a few) -Beds comfy(but it’s 2 beds put together as one and so you can’t lay in middle. As you feel the separated beds) Kind staff"

Cons- The hot water last about 1min in the bathtub. Maybe 5mins in the shower. -Wifi didn’t work at all (connected but didn’t load nothing) -Not soundproof can hear people walking past. -The beds is not 1 bed it’s 2 beds put together and you can definitely feel the separated part in middle.

The complex is getting old! I travels here about 25 years ago, and it seems that somethings stayed in the past! We stayed in room 324 with great internet!!! Bathroom needs work, but not a reason not to stay here. The food in general was good. Pool areas clean and staff always around. The clients as in other resorts, have this thing about keeping the chairs/sunbeds all day to themselves (shame on them) !!!

"They have a great little lagoon with excellent snorkeling at high tide. Lots of coral and fish to see."

The dive shop is always closed. Fortunately, there is an excellent one adjacent to the property and connected by a walkway. The restaurant is mediocre. The bar pool-side is closed until 5:00 pm but that’s all right because their cocktails are awful.

Couldn’t find any ramp which could be wheel chair friendly. A ramp could be introduced for ease of moving luggage’s and for elderly people.

"My wife and I waited 15 years to go to the jade Mountain on St. Lucia. Who knew I would like windjammer much better. The rooms were fantastic, but Marcus and Bridget made everything worthwhile. I would stay here again 100 times before I stated any other hotel on island."

"Close to the airport so for us a good place to stay the first night in Namibia. The room was fine and we slept well. Quiet and clean. We appreciated the gym. Good breakfast and dining options."

"Staff: super supportive. One of the member of our party injured, and Cresta staff immediately checked her status, then suggested us the solutions (private doctor or public hospital) then someone escorted us to the doctor then the pharmacy. Food: extremely rich breakfast, fantastic selection of foods for dinner. All the three evenings the staff congratulated to the guests who had anniversary with some folk-dance and singing improvized. The park: everywhere warthogs, some bushbucks, banded mongooses and cheeky vervets (be careful, they are stealers!) Rooms: cosy Programs: there is a travel office on site, and they organize trips to Vic Falls, Chobe Game Reserve and boat cruises on Chobe River."

"Anantara Resort offers a great and spacious atoll with several islands united, providing an array of experiences imaginable. Enjoy a relaxing massage over water, go snorkeling or swimming, witness breathtaking sunsets, and immerse yourself in a secluded atmosphere that will make you feel lost for a week. A huge plus is - transportation - it just takes 30min from Anantara to the airport by boat. We were staying with a baby and it was critical (no sea planes)"

Some villas may be facing docking points or ferry routs which is a little noisy.
