Luxury tents in Côte d'Ivoire

"I had such a great stay at Lac Castor! My hut was right on the lake and was well stocked with firewood and cooking utensils. It was a little more off-grid than I expected. It seems as though the huts lighting works from solar power only so the lights did start to cut out in the evening, there isn't much/any cell service and there weren't outlets to be able to charge my phone. The communal toilets however did have working outlets that could be used. But I would 100% stay here again! The site is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. Being able to take a canoe out onto the lake at sunset was just magic! And the staff are so friendly. I would highly recommend staying here!"

It would be nice to have more power to the huts, but I was very happy with it nonetheless.

"Leuke locatie, makkelijk te vinden, goede verbinding met de uitstappen die we wilden doen. Onthaal was zeer goed, duidelijke uitleg, vriendelijk. Uitchecken ook vlotjes verlopen. Op de camping zelf was het zeer rustig, parking aan de lodgetent was zeker een meerwaarde! Lodgetent op zich was zeer proper, ruim, bedlinnen roken erg fris, dus zeer aangenaam. Prijs kwaliteit zeker een aanrader! We hebben er van genoten en gaan in de toekomst zeker nog eens beroep doen van deze accomodatie"

Locatie van de lodgetent was dicht tegen de straatkant waaraan ook een parking gelegen was. Dit zorgde wel voor wat lawaai aangezien er ook veel verkeer was in de nacht. We konden dit gelukkig wel weg filteren :)

"Lovely location near Little Petra. Easily accessible, though last bit of road is gravel. We were the only guests (due to low tourist numbers in general), and our host Mohammed was very generous with his time and efforts to give us a great experience there. The cooking was superb for the two dinners we paid for, and the breakfast was tasty and plentiful. Heat was provided in the evenings to stave off the chilly weather. Our family of 5 enjoyed it immensely and would happily stay here again if we come back to Petra"

It's a camp, not a hotel. This is a huge plus in our minds, to be more out in nature and away from crowds. So there were no downsides for us, but you should come expecting a clamping experience, not a cushy one.

Not a problem with the campsite: there is 8 km unpaved road only to this place.

"A very cozy place for those who want to enjoy nature and tranquility. Convenient to reach by car from Ljubljana. Kamnik is a 10-minute drive away, where you can go shopping or visit a café. In the evening, you can enjoy sitting around the campfire. There is a large meadow where children and adults can play. There is a convenient shared area with facilities and a kitchen."

We experienced difficulties getting the keys due to a small mistake by the staff, but it was resolved fairly quickly. In summer, it gets quite hot at night in the houses.

"Amazing camp accessible by car. We only had front-wheel drive Dacia, so it was a bit difficult to get there. If you go, lease a 4x4 for sure. We only wanted a day trip on camels, so we arrived by car. There are many camps that you can visit on a multi-day trip on camels deeper in the desert, however, if you only want a day trip on camels and have car, this is a must-visit. Personnel superb, food superb Bathroom facilities better than most hotels, in the tent (available outside of tent as well - they have public bathrooms) They booked a day trip on camels. We wanted to try this limited version before going on a multiple day trip on camels. I suggest telling them that you don't want to spend 4h on the lunch break. It's too long. 2h of break is enough. You go about 2h on camels' backs and then back after lunch. This camp was top 2 experiences we had in morocco. If you want larger and more iconic sand dunes, visit Merzouga. The dunes here are small, yet beautiful"

There is a lot of mice. One mouse bit me in sleep to my finger. Before you go to bed, don't bring any food into the tent and put the door-mat behind the doors so mice don't have a way in. If you come during winter, bring a sleeping bag, it was very cold. They had 5 blankets though. I suggest, when there's cold, that one person sleeps in sleeping bag, one with blankets.

"The location is a bit out of the city center, which you can expect for accommodation in yurts. It is a pleasant, peaceful, quiet location. The tent was really clean and nice. The lady who welcomed me was very kind, the breakfast was very tasty and the property itself is beautiful. During my stay, they were still doing some work, I believe, so it will be even nicer over time. But it was already top of the top!"

When I marked the location of the accommodation on Yandex, the driver had some problems finding the accommodation. The same thing happened to me when I left. The drivers and employees were so friendly that I just handed them the phone and they arranged everything themselves.

"WOW! What an experience our stay here was. Right from the main gate, seeing animals as you drive in, right through the checking out, everything was beautiful.
