"The cleaning staff did a fantastic job. The front desk staff was exceptional. Serhie was incredibly helpful in getting me a train ticket back to Poland. He was very patient and stayed late on a Friday evening to help me even though I'm sure he wanted to go home. The older male bartender was very friendly and kind. The food from the bar was good. I ate 2 or 3 meals at the bar. The breakfast was delicious and has really improved considerably since the last time I was here about 3 and 1/2 years ago when they had breakfast in the second floor bar area. It was very fresh and they had many options."

There wasn't really anything I didn't like. Premier Hotel Rus has always been an outstanding hotel since I first started coming to Kiev in 2012.

"If you are only considering staying, it’s also an option to stay Royal Orchid Hotel, because the price is affordable. Friendly staff answered all my questions."

The escalator was out of order.

We did not have hot water the first night. The second day it came, but it was always either very hot or very cold.

Lobby area by bar or library carpet looks dirty or filthy -needs newer carpet or change color to brighten the room , I was bitten a lot by mosquitoes while I was seated at the lobby for few minutes, I told the front desk and showed them my mosquito bites and they seem like no clue what I was saying. Hallways to the room needs some updates looks old but it’s fine, it’s clean.

"The location and the pool. There sauna is not working anymore and that’s sad because they used to have a nice spa. I learned that you can still book a massage. I like that they keep the parking free for costumers! Please do not change that."

Some details need to be changed, seams old. The shower was small for my husband and there was only one bottle of water inside the friedge ( we booked for 2 people). They charge me a security fee but there is nothing inside the room to eat. All those things are wired.

"Pool was very nice and the beach was beautiful. The guys on the water sports section would bring out an umbrella for you and set it up which was great. They also had good entertainment every day. Mostly music at night, but also a fire show which was fun."

Service at the restaurant was really slow. The staff was very nice, but it took forever to get a drink or food. Also, there was no where to easily get coffee in the morning. If they had a little coffee shop area, that would really be a great addition. Walking into town was complicated by the 2 giant sandals resorts next door, so the roads all looped around those, but we did find we could walk down the beach to get to the Dover market and restaurants there pretty quickly.

this could be improved: -the beach has a lot of potential, buiding a nice peer with stairs for a sea swim would make it much better -there isnt enough shade in the garden and the sun is punishing -the trees on the beach have fruits that hurt when falling, as part of garden maintenance they should be shuffled to drop the fruits upfront -the restaurant options both for breakfast, meals and snacks, leaves out a lot of the good things of Sao Tome. Look at your competitor Riu, for instance, they always have a section with local treats

"Very good location, in the city center. The check in was super easy and fast, all digital. Practical when you arrive late. The building is an old prison restructured in a hotel, it was interesting to see and experience."

The size of the room we had, was a bit smaller as imagined.

"Thander served , she was exceptionally polite and had provided me with great customer service. Love the hotel location and the rooms is great for family’s. Clean sheets great AC and good maintenance in bathroom."

Toilet this time not so clean. Found a pubic hair on the wall of the tub. There was a bad drain smell coming out of toilet, sink drain & floor drain.

The hotel is not soundproof, you can hear everything around… but didn’t bother me

"Total African feel. All rooms overlook the game park and water hole. So amazing to eat your meal or have a drink while watching animals come and go. The staff here are all superb ! Friendly and helpful at all times"

"Mercure is just a short drive away from the airport and we went with a transfer booked through Booking.com to making going to and from the airport streamlined. Check-in was quick and easy the staff were friendly and food was reasonably priced at the restaurant. The room was clean and the pool was great for the hot and humid weather. It was also close to supermarkets, movies and other restaurants which served a variety of food."

The bathroom felt a bit outdated.

"Amazing location, excelelnt staff, food was really up to standards and the beach is just amazing. They also provided us with a room to take shower on our day of leaving after a full day of beach and sunbathing."

Bed and pillows, especially pillows should be updated or provided with options. I ended up not sleeping most of the night. Plus there is a club next to the hotel and although I understand it is not their fault, it needs to be addressed. For the money we paid, it cannot be that sleep, which is the most important thing when staying in a hotel, is not comfortable.

What’s not to like!?

"Lovely views from lounge and room. Rooms very spacious and clean, and comfortable beds. Golf experience was good and pool area very pretty and enjoyable. Staff at reception were helpful and polite."

The dinner was very average. No evening entertainment at all, for example, music in lounge, bar etc.

"The hotel is set on the edge of the sea, with the pool and restaurants directly beside it. The property is beautiful and well maintained. Our room was also very comfortable and quiet and spacious. We hosted a private dinner for my husband's birthday for 40+ guests and the service, food, set up, ambiance and every last detail was impeccable. The staff went above and beyond to help manage last minute requests (flowers, placecards, etc.!). They did everything with a wonderful attitude and provided excellent service. I would highly recommend this hotel both for a stay or for hosting a special event. I would definitely go back."

The staff was very friendly, professional, and always ready to help. Breakfast was rich and tasty, with a good variety of options. I also appreciated the overall calm atmosphere and well-maintained facilities."

Nothing significant. Everything met our expectations and the stay was very comfortable.

"Very helpful staff - they would coordinate taxi rides at good prices using a local app, and explain things to the driver in French. Really good food - loved the delicious green beans and the mixed vegetables. Also really enjoyed the unusual tuna omelette. Walkable location on quiet road, close to many beach bars, Good value stay."

The WiFi network has many overlapping networks with different numbers (Hotel Aurore 2, Hotel Aurore 4, etc.), and none of them would stay consistently online. At one point I was able to do 20 minutes of streaming, but at many other times I could not do photo uploading. If they could get a solid WiFi connection all under a single network, this would be a huge upgrade. The jacuzzi was not actually heated when I checked. I was in two sizes of rooms, and the A/C seemed to do a pretty good job in the smaller one, but struggled to cool the room in a triple room, which may reflect the size of the room vs. the A/C output. The shower did not actually work when I first arrived (though they were able to fix that within about 15 minutes.) Even when fixed, the shower water got lukewarm, not hot.

"The hotel is conveniently located near the sea, close to a few good restaurants, and decent grocery store. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Overall, we had a very comfortable stay. I would stay here again."

Room was too small, and the older gentleman who checked me out was unfriendly and little sarcastic (unprofessional). Was little far from downtown.

"The space was lovely (first floor room with street view), the street pretty quiet. Room was clean and comfortable, nice bathroom. The location was excellent - we were able to walk to many, many places conveniently. Train stops are close by as well as pubs and shops. Highly recommend!"

As we were on the ground floor, next to the stairs, we did hear a bit of noise from upstairs neighbors and their coming and going, as well as folks walking the sidewalk outside, but truly not a deal-breaker.

"The hotel is perfectly located for arriving by bus late at night. A few minutes walk and you are at the hotel.. There is no need to worry about finding an honest taxi or onward travel. A very warm and friendly welcome by professional reception staff who speak English. Rooms are clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was great. There is a very good supermarket next door and lots of restaurants. It is a short, easy walk to the centre to and you can leave your luggage after check out so perfect if your onward travel is by bus. Kosovo is such a friendly country, and I loved the atmosphere and welcome in Prishtina."
