There are a lot of steps if you are staying in a lower level unit.

"Everything here is perfect. The resort is in a jungle setting, with fish, butterflies and birds. The Tree House villa we stayed in was perfect, with a floor for us and a floor for the kids. Everything was taken care of - from water and snacks to the pool and the restaurant. A perfect stay."

The villa pool is in constant shade. While it's perfect for us (no sun burns), it means the water temprature is always a bit too cold, which practically meant we spent our time in the (perfect) public pool, but never used our villa pool. It would be great if the villa pool had an option for heating.

"The hotel staff at check-in was fabulous. We had a late night, last minute arrival and she helped us out greatly."

"This stay was one of my favourite after one month all around Guatemala. Submerged in nature this property is so peaceful and beautiful. The cabins are spacious and have everything you need plus the beds are super comfortable and it’s very clean. The pool was refreshing and the river is warm, calm in this spot and inviting. The cherry on top is the owners attentive service and incredible cooking! The food was really delicious and I wish I had stayed longer to enjoy more of everything! This was my hidden gem find on my trip."

Nothing, they have paid such close detail and thought of everything. They are clearly passionate about their property and the people who stay here.

"The facilities are very well maintained. Plenty of activities are available. Quality of food is outstanding.the bread is delicious. Great location. What I disliked is the quality of the underwater life in the area and , while many staff members were smiling and willing to make your stay very pleasant, others were very distant and cold. It is a kids-friendly hotel so if you are looking for a calm place , you may not find here what you are looking for. Overall We would chose the same place again in the Grand Baie area"

The cottage would have been better with a small kitchenette...and please get rid of those coffee machines as they leak water and make terrible coffee.

The carpets were dirty (but how could they be clean in a beach town?), but otherwise everything was fantastic.

"Staff are very helpful & friendly. The resort is cozy & the junior suite is wow with a wow view. Ahmed on the pool bar, Khaled the house keeping, Muhammad the main resturant waiter are very helpful & friendly with a nice smile on their faces."

Food was not bad at all, it was good, but not on the level of a 5 stars hotel. Staff followup was a bit too much, I know they’re trying to do their job perfectly, but it was a little much knocking on the door and phone calls.

The tropical gardens around the hotel were beautiful and larger than any hotel gardens I have seen elsewhere in Asia and very well maintained. In particular we would like to mention Mr Tony Tong the Hospitality Manager who was very helpful advising us on excursions and sorting out a serious travel problem (0ne railway ticket booked instead of two!)"

"Perfect location if you don't mind walking a little bit. It was really quiet and relaxing. Joey was fantastic, and you can feel that they considered all sort of customer needs and details. Room is OK, and the breakfast was great."

The breakfast is a bit disappointing, would have loved a strong cup of coffee, but the rest of the menu is really enjoyable, and the great service more than makes up for the slightly under par breakfast.

"Very helpful and accomodating team in reception and the main restaurant. We loved our room: generously sized, nicely decorated, convenient kitchenette corner. The nature pool was fantastic, and it was great to be able to use resort equipment (snorkeling, bikes, etc). The food was very good, we ate well. 🙂"

We loved the location and food in the beach bar, unfortunately the server there was not very good: not especially friendly or quick.

"The property is located in a beautiful bluff overlooking the ocean. Great views of the coastline with well-appointed rooms. Service is good overall."

Restaurant service could be timely improved

The hotel ordered breakfast (per our choice) from outside restaurant but the food were cold thus did not taste good. The hotel did have salad and porridge for the breakfast. The second morning buffet breakfast was not impressive and was below my expectation based on other reviews from Booking.com. Closet space is limited.

"Amazing location right on the beach. Bungalows are a bit dated but they are clean, comfortable, and the air con works great. Staff is exceptional, always willing to help you out with whatever you need. The daily breakfast is small and basic but we complemented ours with yogurt from Tina’s 24/7 market and it was perfect. The lagoon is so close, literally feet from your bungalow. The beach chairs are nice. Plenty of parking for cars or scooters. The grounds are pretty and well maintained."

The restaurant is only open on Wednesday and Saturdays so you need to go elsewhere the other nights for dinner. There are a couple of places within walking distance but you will need wheels of some kind to get to a grocery store or other dining options. WiFi works great out by the office or at the tables in the restaurant but you risk getting eaten by mozzies, wifi didn’t work very well in our bungalow.

"The food was not good at all. Limited room services times and options. Buffett was not good; we ate the first night and then went to the mainland each night there after for dinner. Such an amazing location but nowhere to lounge or dine."

Day trippers were the resorts focus, maybe it was the time of year. Food and drink options were not good.

I must also highlight the exceptionally gracious hospitality of Windward investor Mr. Andreas Kisslinger, who hosted a sumptuous birthday celebration for me at their exquisite on-premises restaurant."

"I had the most wonderful stay! The island was so incredibly picturesque, my chalet dreamy, the food phenomenal and Annarine and Rodney were absolutely gems! I felt so very safe and well minded. The wifi in the restaurant was top notch. Will definitely be back again soon! 🩷"
