"The beds were clean and had mosquito nets. The room was spacious with only 4 beds. There's an AC in the room and 2 fans. The location is good; it's like a village on the western side of the city. It is safe even walking at night. There are small shops nearby. You can buy basic stuff and cook in the fully equipped kitchen. The beaches are 15-20 minutes walking or 5 min by tuktuk. The fast ferry to the airport is just 10 min walking distance. The staff were ok and helpful. The view from the balcony is great. It's the cheapest place in town. In fact it's the only hostel in Freetown on Booking.com. They have a generator in case of power cuts. The wifi is fast."

The toilet needs a bit of cleaning and maintenance. There's no hot water and the water pressure is weak. The generator is right under the dorm window; very loud. But still; you get what you pay for. A basic hotel in the area is 3-4 times more expensive.

No complaints! I think this hostel should be rated more highly than it is. Would stay here again and would recommend others to stay here.

"The owner is incredibly kind and accommodating, the facilities are clean and well kept, and Felix the cat will cuddle with you if you let him! In addition, the location of the hostel is very conveniently placed, and the other people staying there were delightful. All in all, my stay was 10/10! I stayed in the room at the very top of the building, so you could hear some kind of generator outside the walls the whole night. So there was some noise. Unsure if from inside or a neighbor.

I didn't like that some guests were smoking in the public area, it's not possible according to the rules in the UAE. The washing machine and the fritz are sharing one plug, it's completely unbelievable why this Small problem was not taken care of a long time ago. The tap in the bathroom has a hole so the water is being sprayed all over the place. This is clearly a proof of bad leadership in this company when small things can't be fixed 😔 The staff Fayas is doing a good job keeping the place clean, and are always smiling 😊

I did not like the fact that there was no bathroom in the dorm rooms. The toilets and showers were right next to the dorms but still, you had to go outside to get to them.

My tent didn’t close completely so who knows what animals could’ve visited me in the night. My room was never cleaned in the 11 days and I had to ask for a change of linens midway through.

Our room was very small, the bed took up most of the floor space. However, this has to be balanced with the amount we paid.

"I came from Mumbai to Addis Ababa, then took a bus from Addis to Bahir Dar. This hostel was a gem with the value you pay. I asked them to buy the return bus ticket, pick up to the bus station in the early morning and they happily did. The best part was they helped me get an excellent tour package of the Lake Tana and the Blue Niles Waterfall, with very good price for one day, as I was tight with my schedule. The tour went very well with excellent and safe vehicles (car and boat), great guides, and all important places. The room I got has a queen size bed, shower and toilet attached, with good privacy and cleanliness. I stayed two nights and will do it again when I have a chance.Please support this property as well as the Bahir Dar. They are waiting and very happy to serve you to the best of their abilities."

"I stayed for 5 days and had a great experience. The room was clean and had hot water, which I really appreciated! While the location might feel a little far from the city center for some, it’s still walkable (about 20–30 minutes on foot), and it was perfect for me since I planned to travel by train later. I also needed to work for several hours and the wifi connection worked perfectly fine! The staff were incredibly supportive—helping with airport pick-ups/drop-offs and even recommending local restaurants. Breakfast was included and quickly became one of the highlights of my stay. I especially loved that it was served in a ger in the dining area—such a unique touch!"
